i have had dozens of tickets over the decades and yours are not problematic. I would not encourage anyone to enter truck driving and jump thru all the hoops and have to train with God knows who just to aquire a cdl. i certainly would not do it if i had to enter as you newbies must and then be relegated to some mega fleet and the slow/ every move electronically monitored truck. once that clock is ticking, that monitored driver has to time his dumps at the rest areas.

who wants to take a timely dump? heck,my dumps are master pieces and are worth every minute they take.there are times that i might take 15 minutes to dump.I simply will not take time restrained or constrained dumps.

I do pull an end dump often so there ya go-

the OP is not even a cdl holder yet.how could csa points be brought into play? just curious.OP will not be a difficult hire in my uneducated opinion. go ahead a get a cdl OP and jump into the rat race in that slow truck. if csa really mattered with other than the megas,my OOS's,radar detector tickets,my speeding tickets, and my load spilling over tickets along with all my overweight tickets would have me hitchhiking.

many drivers live in fear of big brother for no reason other than their trainer told them to.NO xlsdraw, you are not being singled out.you are but still a newbie overall.drive for another 10 years and you will see that the tickets that you will get will not disadvantage you.it is part of doing business as a driver if you are an actual driver.not you as in you but the drivers that lament the csa.

My thinking is that if I were to enter training, either through a real 'school' or as a paid driver trainee (I think there are companies that do that and actually pay the training costs for vets) essentially now with a trainer that teaches the rules under the CSA2010 and refuses to teach bad habits (which is something I would insist on personally); I should be okay.

I have been in contact with the folks at 'Troops to Truckers' program and would like to know if anyone else out there has any experience with them and can speak to it.

    Now for some lingo clarifications:

    CSA points??

    OOS's??

i wish you the best of luck if you enter driving.bad habits will always be learned,as in passed on,or learned as in individually.you can not escape bad habits.every driver has one or more.I probably have more than one but then i was just put in a truck and sent on my way with my ga.class 5 i think it was.that was in 1984.no power steering,no backing experience,no nothing.trial and error on my behalf all the way and i am so glad it was that way.i have experienced that which most have never and never will as related to driving a truck.I still drive an actual truck with 18 tires and wheels and i make my own decisions regarding where to fuel, when to stop, how to log, etc. and it is all legal.gosh.how can that be? i make actual decisions and do not have to have my hand held. oh the freedom that most drivers can't imagine because they drive under such restrictive conditions and still stay anxiety laden.all of this in today's driving climate.hard to imagine and yes it will probably end if big brother and the anti trucking groups continue unchallenged. another topic but do you really desire to enter such a hated environment?

    okay.i am getting off topic.

stay away from the mega fleets is my advice.drive an actual truck if at all possible thereby having the opportunity to experience what is left of "truck driving". i don't call driving a truck that runs less than the posted speed limit driving. the ones that are all electronically monitored out,and slow, are not what i reference as a real truck.how can it be when your every move is scripted in advance by the mega fleet? just something to think about as you ponder what is a major decision-

    oh yeah.
OOS-out of service as in the dot has placed you and/or the truck out of service

csa-commercial vehicle safety act? i don't even know but i do know that tickets obtained/earned while in a commercial vehicle now go against both the driver and the company.you must have a commercial license in order for it to plague you.

way too much for you to concern yourself with at this juncture in my opinion and i am not opinionated.

View attachment DMV report- violations only, no personal info.doc

    Here is the latest:

This week, I have needed to deal with BOTH of the 2 MOST HATED state run organizations:

    1) DMV!! I dealt with them TWICE!!! I went to renew my license for both my CA Class C (Car) and M1 (motorcycle) endorsements and needed to take a written exam. In CA, these are no longer written, they are PC/Touch screen based, which was cool. The 3 questions I missed were actually ambiguous and had more than one correct answer! UGH! Had I not forgotten I needed an H6 printout, I would not have needed to return today, but I was in and out of there pretty quickly and was done by 815 (I arrived at 730 and they opened at 800).

    2) EDD! I needed to file a new unemployment claim because my prior claim expired (and funds depleted) before the federal government authorized extensions of benefits. I was advised that I could qualify for a subsequent claim since I am still unemployed. That call lasted an hour or so....

    Now for my situation:

I spoke with recruiters at Swift (this is the company that my old Army friend currently works for and we have spoken on the phone after not speaking for over 25 years about this) and it looks like we may be proceeding with their paid training (as a veteran, they are willing to pay the costs of housing and training in exchange for a 12 month contract as a company driver pending successfully passing the medical screening). It looks like they will be transporting me to their school in the southern California area via greyhound, and I should be able to store my vehicle at their facility that is closest to where I am (this is about an hour or so away, and the school is closer to 8 hours' drive time away, making my driving an impractical and costly solution) while I am in training. I just got an email with a link to some forms to complete, which I just looked at, somehow I think it was incomplete.

I hope my H6 printout is attached, (without any personal identifying information) and I have some questions as to how to interpret it if someone can help and confirm my thinking:

    A) It looks like my license was suspended, but it also shows the suspension was set aside (I discussed this earlier in the thread as invalid as I never received official notice and appeared in court, which made the reason for the suspension moot whether or not the suspension was valid). Since this suspension was set aside, it made it so it never happened, but still needs to be on the record?
    B) I see the 2 moving violations (the 2012 failure to stop video ticket) and the 2013 wireless ticket; since I am in the process of taking the traffic violator school online, this ticket will disappear and leave only the wireless ticket from 2013, should I choose to pay the fine and not fight it; am I correct?
    C) It shows 0 points with NO FTA's, FTP's or accidents. This is a good thing as far as I can tell.
