Well that depends on what you said earlier.... "HAD a class A CDL..."

Had or have can make a difference. There are guys who have CDLs that have been out of the business a few years that they make them go thru the school. They keep their CDL but they go out for a refresher with the instructor and test out just like the permit holders before going on to TNT.

There is a need for Instructors to grab students this month. I haven't heard it spread around the fleet much, but I was told that for the month of July they are upping the weekly pay by $100 ($400/week) and upping the bonuses for testing by at least $100. As of now only for students picked up in July.

Apparently this was offered in Dec, but I never heard anything about it at the time or missed the message.

INSTRUCTORS.... not sure about student bonus.

I was compliant up until the study. The physician discontinued therapy. I have that report. That is why I was asking. The report says mild and says discontinue therapy. I've had machine for a while and don't mind using it. Of course if their doc says I need to use it I will of course. Just hate to cart it there if I end up not needed to. I will be bringing it now. Machines aren't cheap. It has the card. So I will bring it and if they say I don't need it and am okay with the study I had done last week then I will ship it home.

With no recent experience they'll want you to complete PSD. The insurance folks will want that to reduce the chances you'd be in an accident.

    'SP Thanks this.

This is why they have their own doctor, so they can weed out any "risk(s)", the insurance game is all about lowering risk possibilities. If a company-like many corporations here-have their own doctor they can pay their doctor for their desired outcome, not an outcome they have to let be equal.

    Spoken like a true wannabe.

Yeah, cause another doctor can't be paid off by the patient... (sarcasm for those that can't read)

Very simply, any Trucking employer can set their own physical requirements above DOT requirements, however they cannot ignore the minimum requirements set by the DOT.

Prime only trusts their doctor for pre employment screenings. After that, the driver can choose Prime's doctor or any of the doctors at 300 different Concentra locations.

Yeah, Chuck, spoken like a true wannabe that's been in the workforce, for 34 years, and seen a few things. One of those being employed the insurance industry, and union drives that corporations use their doctors for instead of one that can be helpful to the employee. A true wannabe.

My friend the ex-trucker was correct when we were discussing drivers when I asked him if I were to be dealing with fellow employees on a 12th grade education level, and his answer was "if that."

Unions, what unions? There are no unions at a lot of these trucking companies... Including Prime.

Give me one mid to large size trucking company in this industry that allows drivers to see any doctor they choose for an DOT pre-employment physical.

I said "unions," not "unions in the trucking business."
