If you're coming 80 from the west, think about coming across 88 instead. It's a toll road but if you have an EZ Pass compatible transponder, you'll save at least 10 minutes, if you're coming from the Quad cities area.

But the good news is, your street is about two streets off of IL-59 which is a good road for trucks, less any construction going on. So you should be ok getting into that Barlett address.

    Chicago.

Grabbed an empty trailer from the rail yard at 63rd and Dan Ryan. GPS said go west to Western Avenue, then North to 47th, then West to Archer. Sounds good.

I checked with another local driver and he agreed.

I turned West onto 47th and got two blocks to find:

NICE! Now I am on a two lane road and only residential side streets before that sign. I called Chicago Truck Routing. She says to continue west to California then go north to Archer.... She stated that if I need it, "she will send a squad to help me back up, or U-turn". If you are in a bind in Chicago use that service before damage...

    Road is closed before California!

Not much traffic for 8:30am so I pulled into oncoming lane and set up for a back down one of those side streets on my left. Did a three point, get my *** out of here, U-turn and headed back to Western for a new route.

I had taken 47th before, but it was not happening today!

Linky no worky Mikey. Let me guess a 12' 6er? Hey by the way what's the deal with that viaduct that carries 90/94 over Irving Park Road, says 13' 5" "exactly" on the east bound side and 13' 6" "exactly" on west bound side. Good to go or no?

No. 47th is good from 90/94 going west until it dead ends at Central. Mikee saw a road closed sign at California.

Maybe the eb side of irving park is 13,5 and the wb side is 13,6.

Coming or going through the same viaduct can be different clearances!

Ya, 47th was a local construction closure.
