how far can you move with electronic logs before it clicks over to the drive line when youre out of hours? There a truck stop a mile and a half away. Is it two miles?

I think it will very with company. Mine is 5 minutes, over 25 mph. If i hit the drive line, i can immediately stop the truck, hit off duty, and sit for 5 minutes and start out again. Best to ask another driver from your company.

I remember that with cr england as long as you drove under 5 mph for however long or far you wanted you would stay off duty.
With jb hunt you you could drive up to two miles at any speed before going into driving.
So it is just by company.zoekatya Thanks this. -

Depends on the companys setup most of the time its a mile. But i have gotten away with it by driving a half mile then switching it from sb to off duty going another half mile then switching from off duty to sb to get to a safe place

You can drive to the nearest (safe) place to park (even out of ALL hours to work) as long as you explain why you had to continue in the elogs comment section.

Varies by company. I can go for about 2 miles under 20mph before it clicks over. BUT - when it does, I can stop and change it back to 'off-duty' and get another 2 miles.
The caveat? The system still logs that the truck was moving, how far, how fast, and in which direction, no matter what. You won't be flagged with a 'violation', but an audit will uncover the truth.Skydivedavec and zoekatya Thank this. -
