No lease purchase but they have some older trucks they are selling to guys that want to become O/O's.
Most of the trucks they are selling are old company trucks as far as I have seen. 2000 Freightliners with Boydstun set ups.
They do have a few Western Stars and Petes that came from when they bought Ohio auto transport.

The trucks URS sells are all refurbished, most have new engine rebuilds. They use a finance company out of NC called CCG Commercial Finance. I suspect that the investment firm that owns United Road has a stake in CCG as well. It pretty much a no brainer getting the financing done, URS handles all the paperwork for the O/O. I have one of the FLD's with the Boydston 9178 joined to it, 3406E 475 hp, 13 speed with 1.05 million on the clock. I bought it with a fresh engine, transmission and rears rebuild and new paint. Not blast and paint but a respray, I paid a little over 55k which I felt was fair for what I was getting. I've owned 25 different car haulers over the years so in my experiences I found this truck to be a reasonably good deal. The clincher is that most have service records from the time they were new, that allows you to know exactly what you are getting.

Man a used car hauler can be a gamble though. I know my 1998 trailer has had some issues I've had to iron out, and old hoses etc, but for the right price and if you tuck away a good maintenance fund you should be able to stay ahead of the game.

I argree with the hose situation, hoses are one of those items that can be like a dog chasing his tail, they deteriorate over time and unless you want to spend a few grand on re-hosing the whole truck its something that one has to expect to fix from time to time with a used truck.

Can anyone comment on running for United Road in the local NJ, PA area. I would think about a 4/5 car trailer and single axle tractor(owner op).
