Who refuses to move from the receivers when out of hours? Can they make you leave because I don't want a huge fine by the dot? What does everyone do in that situation? Do you just drive over to get somewhere and risk it when the say you cant sleep on the property?

I just drive to the closest place and note why on my logs. Nothing else you can really do.

Yes, they can make you move because it is private property and the FMCSA has no authority to make them accommodate you. Ask nicely, and if they decline, go to the nearest safe place to legally park. Always a good idea to have a backup plan before going in to any shipper or receiver to decide where you will go if running low and/or out of hours when you depart the location.

I am in south san fransisco, parked here for the night. Not to hijack but i suspect you know the area well. Am i correct to say there is NO safe place to park here? Are those two hour parking spots on the side of industrial streets safe for the night?

    russellkanning Thanks this.
