You deffinately did the right thing.Request to your dispatcher you want a trainer that can speak English and you can understand everything he says.Muslims are very loyal to their beliefs I worked with 3 of them. They were all great guys in fact the nicest drivers I ever met.But if I was a trainee I would want a trainer im fully in tune with.

I hate to say this. I really hate to say this me being non violent and all, but I would have encouraged him to slap me. And I would have to give him a whole new religion. "Oh God! Get them off me! Help me God!"

And The Lord said, Thou hath only one opponent. Though shouldn't hath made that one mad for he doth not forgive thy transgressions.

wow... your trainer threatened to slap you and you let it slide??? I've never tried to be a" tough guy"but I would not have let that one just slide... my mama didn't raise anybody's punk... but I don't think you getting out of the truck was unprofessional in the least. you did what you thought you need to do so kudos to you for that so good luck in the future, keep your wheels turning and welcome to trucking..........

Screw talking to the dispatcher, demand a meeting with the management of the company, someone who can make a decision or two and tell them exactly what went on, why you felt very uncomfortable and then ask them to tell you if this is acceptable behavior for the company.

He committed a CRIME. Do you hear me? Threatening to slap someone is a crime, the police should be notified, the company should fire him, and you should file charges against him for threating to assault you. If you don't do this, he will do it again, and again and again. If somebody at my job threatened to slap me I would first tell the immediate supervisor, and then I would call the police. You can take him to court and demand civil damages for threatening you, creating a hostile work environment, and any additional expenses or lost wages you suffered because of his ILLEGAL behavior.

This man committed a CRIME against you. If your company doesn't fire this person your company is not worth dog doo doo.

HHMMMM my take on this and all the other threads i have read just like it, Most of these trainers are just training for a couple of lousy extra bucks.
I am sure there are actually a few good trainers in a few good company's that actual want to pass on knowledge.
most have 0 reason for letting you in their truck otherwise and they are more likely to do it in lousy company that doesn't pay well in the first place, so their reason for training isn't exactly pure.
You trainees are not indentured servants, and believe it or not there are probably places that will put you right in a truck (after a good road test). Two of my friends this happened to, but i know this is not very likely.
If you are not respected as a normal human- in training- and from the get go -and at least 99.9% of the time- follow the other drivers on this forum advices.
And dont get me wrong, if you are #$#@%%^% up constantly and i dont mean for marking your log wrong -no trainer would be happy.
I was so lucky way back when, the word trainer was not used in my case and i was treated like an equal but an equal that had to be guided the right way and my questions were answered like they were my friend no disrespect was ever given.
I dont know how some of you make it in those companies that "Train" for months and months.
