The d.o.t requires that all carriers collect and verify the past ten years of employment history regardless of if driving, nondriving, cdl or noncdl. If your not sure about the dates i would suggest you contact you old employers. Do your best to get the dates, and let the old employer know that the call is coming as prime is required by law to call. If you held more than one position with the same employer then i would list the job title as kitchen/delivery driver, but list the dates for the entirety that you were employed with that employer ignoring when you switched job titles. Good luck!

I can't quote the regulations, but Prime does require 10 years and they do call and fax verification.

Just filled out my application this week. It asked for the last 5 years of employment history and 7 years for commercial vehicle history. So do I expect them to ask for 10 years when and if i get to go to SPRIMO?

I also see a lot of people saying to get the CDL permit before going, I live in South Carolina and they require the DOT physical before you can even apply for a permit. Seems redundant since the DOT physical will be done in SPRIMO. I will get the permit while I am there. I have the South Carolina CDL handbook and was wondering if there are any major differences between that and the Missouri regulations, or are they all based on federal regulations?

If you have time it's better to come in with your permit, if for no other reason to speed up the process. As for the regs, basically the same but any endorsement that u get in Mo. Would not transfer over to your home state.

I have been researching Prime Inc as well as a couple others, and want to thankyou all for this thread. I am out of Flagstaff AZ area just off I 40 and see Prime trucks daily, is this a decent location for me to consider Prime ? I sent over the online app last week and spoke to Holly (recruiter) at this point, I am still employed and need to send her w2s for work history due to the fact my employer as no idea yet at this point. I am current a manager of a company at 2 locations and have a good head for business but have no intentions in looking at Lease side for a few years. My question would be though, (should have thought about it and asked Holly. I broke my leg last Dec. obviously healed up and been released from the doctor back in late feb/march... will it be an issue for me on the physical ?

I don't foresee that being an issue. I had complete reconstructive surgery on my knee 3 yrs ago. Btw I'm on the flatbed side.

thanks LR, Only reason I havent looked harder at Prime is the lengthy training process , and money for the first month/5 weeks... I do think they have a great program put togather and is worth consider. being from Northern AZ is refer the best divison for me to look at ?

All divisions run all 48. Most do go reefer but it all depends on your preference . FB is a lot more work and you are in the elements a lot more. Personally, I can't picture myself doing anything other than FB.
