Saul's mistake was actually trying to make some moves when conway really just wanted a warm body. They weren't all good decisions but at least he made an effort to improve.
Now....let me crank this Cinderella video why I lament checking out the hotel. The part isn't even here yet ! Ack!

No truck parking available
3free ####tails @dinner each night.
No crackers for soup though.
Sounds legit.
Regular rooms are like a holiday inn suite. Just a notch above that chain. Not super duper fancy.paul_4lp Thanks this. -

He will not even call you back if a driver has a concern about an issue. I don't know which one is worse. Saul, or this Hagen Daas, or whatever his name is. When a new President of a company comes in, the only thing they are worried about is them making money. I was told at the Lancaster terminal that they have a new pay package starting on the 3rd of August, which includes them paying you to go and get trailers repair done. When I was in Texas last week, I picked up a load in Dallas going to EL Paso with 5 stops. I had to get the ABS worked on in Ft. Worth, I was already in Weatherford, Texas at the Petro. Operations blew it off about paying me to drive 36 miles out of route, because Road Service wanted me to go there to get repairs. The lady in operations said, "Your FM has to do that tomorrow". My FM went on vacation, because my FM put out a fleet wide on his fleet that he was going on vacation until the 12th of August. Again, they try to get away with not paying you. That Million Miler was so convinced they were going to implement a new pay raise package. I mean how naive can he be. I am thinking to myself, "Don't hold your breath". They don't want to give up that mighty dollar that is like Gold to these people unless it's necessary. I wish the lady that owns CFI in Mexico buy the company back. When Conway bought CFI, they only bought the North American division, and not both. They need to bump everyone up at least 2 cents on the mile. After all, they cannot match Swift's pay increase. SNC is even giving a pay increase to their drivers. The majority of the trucking companies out there will be giving pay increases, because they realize the cost of living is going up, but not the driver's wages. The driver's wages have remain the same for the last several years. The truth is, Conway has lost a lot of good drivers, because they are being stingy with their money. The last pay increase I got at Conway was back in 2013. With the amount of experience we all have. We should be well over 40 cents a mile. What they will end up doing, is they will give you a pay increase and then run you around 2,000- 2,200 miles a week. When they do that, the dispatcher should not get paid, the load planner should not get paid, and any authority figure whether by email or verbally tells the dispatcher to run the driver around 2,000- 2,200 should lose their job automatically, because they are keeping you from earning a decent living. They would rather hire these rookies. Pay them less, and have you noticed some of our equipment going down the road. The equipment looks like a lot of cosmetics done to it, so they can get it back on the road. The ferrons on the truck bent up, which tells me someone is inexperienced to drive a truck. All of those messages they send out daily about a safety update. The messages will continue until one of two things happen. #1. Quit hiring rookies to drive these trucks. #2. Quit sending these trucks into places that Conway Freight that has a single axle tractor and a 24 foot trailer to get into. Have you noticed on your dispatch they give you a time? Why not put a window time on there? They try to rush you getting there and then when you get there. You have to wait for some reason or another. They want you to run 62 mph. Yeah right. Go out in West Texas on I-10 where the speed limit is 80mph, and run 62 mph out there, and see what happens. They fuss about your MPG. Really. If you are down in Laredo, and the temperature is over 110 degrees or higher, my question is, are you going to shut your truck off? They are saying, I am at 6.25. I tried the 62 mph, and shutting my truck off, and you come back to a hot truck. Would they go home and stay in a steamy home, or let the AC kick on and off all day? If they are so worried about saving fuel. Put APU's on all of their equipment. Problem solved. The majority of the industry has already converted to APU's on their trucks. If they don't want diesel running APU's. Use battery operated APU's. That so called Driver Advocate is not in half of the time.Last edited: Aug 6, 2014
