Giltner did something very similar to me a year ago, and there are many other complaints about giltner up here. The good and bad with Giltner from someone who actually worked for them a year ago: Firstly, your most common load will be arriving at the port in Southern California and waiting for 5-7 hours to load bananas or pineapples for walmart. After waiting for hours to load (you can’t complain because you’re dealing with hardcore teamsters and long shore man union), and paying around$100.00-$150.00 port fee deducted from the company driver, you likely will be sent down the road to channel islands to begin the wait all over again for a couple of more skids. No extra stop, wait time or layover or is paid. By giltner. You’ll very likely finally be done at around 5 PM at the height of southern California traffic to race to deliver at walmart at very often for me was a weekend delivery at 3:30 AM, after you, the giltner company driver will be charged a lumper fee and waiting 4-5 hours to unload. Then you wait for a reload back to the port for another wait. That weekly round-turn, which I did many, many times, will pay you around $600 a week, although I had many weeks at lower pay because of the unpaid layovers, and will involve about 104 hours on the job with the wait. So your giltner pay will be around 104 hour divided by $600 for a whopping $5.76 an hour.

    giltner Thanks this.

I see they have done this to a lot of other giltner drivers up on this website.Giltner, Jerome, Idaho, ripped me off big time by not paying my final $1673.00 pay when I quit. They went back three years on an order I delivered and was paid on 3 years ago and claimed another driver actually delivered it, and there was damages and shortages. Nonsense. I even still have my BOL copy, but they demand the original, which of course was sent to Giltner 3 years ago. Search Giltner on this site and you will find many such complaints about Giltner. Started out fine 3 years ago but went down hill from there with a lot of pay shortages.

Yes ...... DAC reports CAN be cleared up ,IF the driver disputes the report and yes these companies will try to damage your DAC report but neither the company or hire right wants a lawsuit so they usually don't push it too far IF the driver makes a stink about it ......they have learned this the hard way .....i have sued DAC (hire right) for false information
So trust me ....THEY WON'T PUSH IT ....if there anything on your DAC report that hard to prove ,they drop it like a hot potato ......they are just hoping you feel helpless ,and don't put up a fight ,because it's a big hassle for them
if you dispute their facts ....keep disputing with them til they have enough head ack ....and you will win TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS

Did the same to me, but for another reason. As a company driver, Giltner charged me for three lumpers, 2 tires, and an oil change, but only when I quit. So my last check was actually negative. Later I found out they put the bogus amount they said I owed them for the lumpers, tires and oil change on their company truck on my DAC, making it difficult to find other trucking work.

Giltner ripped me off when I quit too, charging me port fees totaling $2425.00. Giltner gives you a TCH check number which they reimburse you for, until you quit. Then they charge you for some of it when you quit so Giltner doesn’t have to pay you your final pay checks. And as a Giltner company driver, you will go to the port on almost a weekly basis, waiting 4-8 hours to load, without any layover or detention pay of course.

    giltner Thanks this.

it takes 15 days to get the report from dac(hire rite)if you disput something & file you'r rebuttal they give the company 30 days + to respond.so basically some poor driver can not work for almost 2 months will this plays out.

I should have searched this website before driving for giltner, as they ripped me off too when I quit. This is a 100% reefer company, just like their parent company England. $350.00+ per week will come out of your pay for lumpers, port fees, etc. When you quit, they go back and re-charge you for this stuff, knowing you'll never have the original receipt as you already sent that in a long time ago for the original reimbursement. Giltner is a good example where it doesn't matter how much you make per mile because you will spend 4-5 hours waiting at the port for their main loads and hours at walmart at 330 am for unload. You will also layover days each week, none of it reimbursed.

Right. Giltner deducting $400.00-$500.00 per week ($26,000.00 / year) for lumpers/port fees is a huge red flag, as giltner could just as easily pay the shipper/receiver directly to load and unload. They issue you, the driver, a TCH code for a blank TCH check that could just as easily be issued directly to the shipper/receiver/lumper service. I don't know about anyone else, but I had constant payroll and mileage shortages with giltner.

The first time somebody raped me for $400 out of one check for lumper fees would be the last.

Giltner put a negative mark on my DAC too because I demanded all the pay they stiffed me for when I quit. Read in the newspaper that Idaho Transportation Department is investigating them.
