Mine happened when I fired truck up today at about 1445. Took all of ten minutes fro update to reboot. think reboot took longest to configure and actually come up.

If you take the per diem, it's less SS the company will have to match. I know to a lot of you young pups,,retirement is a long time away. I am here to testify, get all you can into SS. When you work for cash or as an Independent Contractor,,you might be shorting yourself. In the sad event you are disabled snd draw SS and maybe retire a few yrs early,,you will appreciate every dime paid in.
Also create your account in the Ss.gov website to watch your contribution. Also get the most for your retirement by 401K matching plans....you won't miss it now,,,but will appreciate it later...be safe.
re taxes : I used Turbo Tax for years. They have a section that deals with per diem as it relates to the transportation industry and those who operate under federal HOS demands. I always enjoyed the extra the money on top of my refund for the days I was away from the house. You need to be able to support those days via your log. My co ( not scheid ) provided a quarterly printout of the elog. Made it easy to count the days you were home.scythe08 Thanks this. -

It looks just like the pictures in the News You Can Use.
I personally hate the update. I think the lane guidance is annoying as hell, especially when exiting the interstate or going thru Nashville where you need to 'exit left', 'exit right', hop on one foot, spin around twice and shout bababoie.
The other thing that's annoying is when trying to preview the route you have to wait at least 3.5 seconds between taps on the down arrow. Any less and it will skip to the end.
The zoom level is also different. I've been playing with it for two weeks now and still haven't found a "Goldilocks" setting. Either too zoomed in so I can't see what's coming up or too far out so I lose detail.
But that's me being a crotchety old man. Darn you kids, get off my lawn.mickimause, tynodine and scythe08 Thank this. -
You aren't old enough to be crotchety, gr.
