I am usually out 3 to 4 weeks, home 7 to 10 days. I stayed out about 5.5 weeks this time and am back on the road tomorrow. That will make a week home. I have decided I am going to take a some time off at the end of the year, about a month, so I am banking up my reserve escrow to cover my truck payments while I am out. I am hoping they will reduce the fixed costs while I am out, don't need so much insurance if its parked at the yard, and that will make things a bit cheaper.
The lease states no modifications to the truck even if it improves the truck. Honestly I don't have any chrome farkles on the truck. No wheel chrome, no chicken lights nothing. If theres no ROI I don't buy it. I do keep the truck clean. What chrome and stainless there is shiny. I truly believe DOT looks harder at you if your truck looks like a rolling wreck thats never been washed.

I'm more of an interior guy. Cb, stereo, that type. But that sounds reasonable since it's their truck. I think my biggest fear is that I'll get there and they won't have what I want (I'd like a coronado or 386 and preferably a 13spd) but that's just my preference i guess haha. Are you just flat or doing rgn/step as well?

Really the only choices they have for trucks are the 386 and coronado's. The 389's are being phased out and there are only a handful of volvos.
The 13 speed isn't going to happen though. They are all 9 speeds (8 plus low). I do have a friend that paid his truck off and they installed the black box mod and he now has a 13 speed. It took a couple of hours and the cost was around $600 I believe. They may let lease guys do it, but again I'm unsure, and honestly I wouldn't trust a recruiter with that question. I will try to remember to call about it tomorrow.dukeofearl Thanks this. -
You really don't have to ask if you don't have to. I appreciate it though. It would be interesting pulling he mountains with machinery and a 9 speed, but if it gets good mileage, I'll do the best I can. Either way, it sounds good. I do like the 389's and such, just not the best for aerodynamics and weight. Again, you are being a bigger help than I've had on any subject here. I appreciate this a lot. Stay safe and keep it up.

Also, what do they govern you at?

Thank you for putting something positive in here! We leased with Prime for the same reason that you are. We didn't know if we wanted the responsibility of being an O/O without some experience first. Their lease program was just what we needed. My husband and I team drove and it worked incredibly well for us. You just have to watch your fuel and take care of your truck. We did extremely well financially well also. At the end of the lease we ended up coming off of the road due to my fathers health. If it weren't for that, we would be O/O right now. Leasing first was preparation for us if we had been able to stay on the road. Best of luck to you. It looks like you are doing well!

Rooster sounds like he has a head on his shoulders. If you do your research, and not go into this with rose colored glasses you should be ok. He seems to be keeping good records, knows his expenses, and what he needs to bring something home each week. This is a business, whether the business is being a company driver or O/O, or being in partnership as a team driver. It's numbers.

Yeah, I figured 62-65 at the most. Obviously depending on the load and such.
