You said you have never been cited for one log book violation right ? Then I will assume you never drove from Anderson, IN to Laredo, TX in the way you said or you definitely would had gotten a violation right ? <----It's a joke so don't take it seriously..lol

A DOT worker is the one who said that most of the laws have went in effect because of the old school drivers lieing on the log books. And they also said the DOT weight thing is changing to get all the overweight drivers out of the driver seats before they have a heart attack behind the wheel or some health problems. Just stating what I was told.

 

You are correct that you have to take your 30 min. breaks.

My point was that this run is doable with one mandatory 10 hour break. Of course you have to do 30 min. break as well.

You stated that a driver can only run 600 miles in 11 hours. That is not correct.

Like I said before I do not understand the hostility.

 

O well then let me revise that, A GOOD DRIVER with not a lot of problems can do 600 miles. You may get a perfect run and he may be able to run 650 miles instead. But anything above 650 is NOT average ITS WAY ABOVE AVERAGE and Average is 600 miles on a good run. So even if you have your perfect run of 650 miles YOU STILL CAN NOT DO IT AS YOU SAID WITH 1 STOP. And the CAPS isn't yelling I am emphasizing what I am saying. When your yelling then everything is Caps when your Emphasizing then some is caps and some lower case. Now you know the difference You can tell it bothers you to say I am correct because you can only say I am correct on the 30 min breaks. But in fact I am correct on the part where there is NO WAY YOU CAN DO THE TRIP IN 1 STOP EITHER

 

Here is where we got off track.

1. A stop is when you make a delivery or a pick up.

2. A break is when you stop for your mandatory 30 min. or 10 hours.


I assume you have not started driving on your own. My request to you is to not take for granite the old school drivers.

Experienced drivers are valuable. You will need help. Seek out their knowledge.

Believe it or not old school drivers are not just a bunch of out laws that cheat with log books.

Regardless if your making a stop or a pickup you still have to take a 30 in break if you drive 8 hours. And I know for a fact you cant do Anderson, IN to Laredo, TX because I have already ran it twice since I have been here and both times we had awesome runs.. Instead of my trainer staying up watching me he slept because he was confident I could handle the drive and he was right because I could. And just because I am not out on my own yet doesn't make me any less ignorant of the laws and whats possible and not possible..lol

Ok I'm with a company in fort wayne and I'm on e logs. And I can run. At times 670 to 680 miles

 

When I worked for Carter my wife went a number of times to Laredo she loved it.
