If you do it in store just scan the trip pack front and it will do the rest.

Unless you ABSOLUTELY need a paycheck next week, I would turn it in normally. Yes, you'll be in the hole next week, but you'll have an extra trip the following week. Don't know what you're fixed expenses are, but it can't be more than $300. You'll actually make more money this way than if you scan it cuz that will cost you $12.
    Just my opinion.

In the truck stop: Just look for the kiosk. Follow the on screen prompts and it will take you through it. Scan the envelope first the the rest of the docs. Before you can hit send you have to preview each page. Use the "page up" "page down" keys for that. You can delete and rescan individual pages if needed. A select few stops will have the cashier scan for you but most are the kiosk.

HOWEVER, I highly recommend the phone app. CJHT is the code to use when you first open the app. Just look at a TripPak envelope if you forget. The old TripPak app was garbage but the new Transflow works great.

Not sure why some people think $12 is such a big deal. In fact, I bet some spend more than that on crayons for their tires.

If you use in cab app on laptop or phone its only 6 bucks. Of course you have to watch sometimes it charges you 12.

Paying any amount of money for a product or service that is free doesn't make good business sense. $12 here, $12 there add up pretty quickly. You're essentially taking that money and throwing it away.

If anyone disagrees with that statement, take $12 tomorrow and give it to a trash can. Better yet, write me a check 2 or 3 or 4 times a month. Not gonna happen is it? Why not? Cuz it's YOUR money. Point I'm trying to make is; hang on to your money.

Oh, and yes. I do spend $11.82 + tax ONCE per year on paint pens to paint my tires. I'm spending money on my business that improves the image, advertise and convey the pride I have in my equipment and distinguishes my truck from every other white Cascadia on the fleet. It's not going toward toward a free service.

The good part of scanning is that you have a confirmation its there. Trippack lost 2 of my packs however I scan all mine into my PC before I send them so I had a backup. Also 6 bucks is less then some spend on a pack of smokes that they literally burn away so to each his own.

Steel, I agree with you 150% and Mrs. Aminal and I had a(few) VERY serious talk(s) during this first hometime about me busting my tail to do all the things I need to do for us to be profitable but our personal bank statement and cash flow not reflecting the same diligence on the home front. I fully anticipate this scanning will be a one time deal. It didn't sit well with me at ALL having to do it. In her defense, she did have some pretty big "can't wait" bills to catch up on from my last stint as a company driver before coming onboard with JCT. BUT she blew a good bit too, while I was out here doing all the penny pinching things I do to maximize revenue and minimize expense. I'm doing everything right controlling my variable expense to an absolute irreducible minimum and our net is nice and high and I get home to see she's not been even trying to control the home variable expenses and WAY over spending and generally just . . . well just doing it wrong. Aminal was NOT a happy camper. Mrs. Aminal was informed of such in a mature, calm, adult way but one that contained NO ambiguity that this would be the first, last and ONLY time I will EVER chase a payroll cutoff. She's still apologizing so I think she got the message. LOL. You've always been a big help and I thank you.

Thanks for the walk through. That's what I needed and it worked. Cool. Hopefully it'll be the last time I ever have to do it, though. Got to disagree about $12. That's $1,200 a year for only 2 trips a week and 50 weeks working. $600 at $6/ scan. That's 2-4 car payments that year I coulda made and Man I can't even smoke, melt, color on my tires or walls or let my grandkids eat that many Crayolas all put together in a year. I'll keep my $600-$1,200 per year in scan fees so long as and for ever long as the yellow box is free. 'Cause Free is for ME. Kids can color with burnt sticks on the driveway just fine. LOL.

Thanks and I'll be loading that software up for the unlikely event I'll need it one day so I don't have to go chasing the only parking spot at the T/S to race to the scanner and see how it charges out and don't think I won't go after my six bucks if it comes in at $12. If I'd had that I coulda parked at my p/u customer for the night and not had to deal with the crap at the Dallas Hook. Thanks.

And THANKS everyone for your help. You guys are the bombdiggity.

Good deal, bad deal. Do it every time, never or just on occasion. I'll give scanning this much: It's nice when I need it. Like a Bambi Guard. Maybe it does this or that to your fuel, maybe it doesn't on your particular rig. Sure is nice when the depressed deer decides suicide by truck is the way to go. A lot comes down to personal taste, preference and what you like as an individual. Some folks spend more on a particular brand of something because they like that brand. There does come a point when the hard work earning the money goes for something we just like. There comes a point when it is important to relax and enjoy the drive, even if it could be a bit less expensive because enjoyment is also a motivator and rejuvenator. Intangible and unquantifiable return on the investment. Balance. It's always about balance.

Still don't get my Grandkids eating the Crayolas, though. They don't eat the ones my wife and I buy from the Dollar Tree. They just break those and stick them in their ears and up their noses. The Crayolas my daughter buys they eat. Maybe because those high priced Crayolas are scented to smell like the colors. Reds smell like roses, orange like oranges, jasmine like . . . you get the idea. It didn't occur to Crayola this might happen? Dollar Tree crayons just smell like stale wax. Who wants to taste that? So breaking them and sticking them in places they don't belong is much more fun. What happened to coloring with them? It's always something these days. New world. Go figure. OH, I don't recommend the burnt sticks as a substitute. Didn't work out well. They don't color long and then the kids want to poke things with them: like each other, the dog . . . my truck. Not good.

Pride in your ride never goes outta style, though, and it's usually a sign of a real conscientious driver all around. Op or Company. New ways of doing it but real nice to see the nice shiny rig and a conscientious driver: ever how it's done these days. Whoa. Accidental deep thought. Must be Aminal's bed time. Nite all.

I won't be. I am coming off home time. I took off a week because I was out for two and half months with my son this summer. I am glad that my truck has an apu though. Forgot to turn off the batteries yesterday after putting my stuff back in the truck and with the fridge in the truck, drained my batteries down. So, I started the apu and letting it charge my batteries.
