I tend to check here every few days or so. Honestly tho, ill post on here when i want Tlea or emulsifieds input.
One thing ive noticed is an increase in trainers saying their students are the lump under a bump on a log, and it seems to have a direct relationship with the lack of traffic. But thats my opinion, no studies or polls done.Corporal_Clegg Thanks this. -

Facebook is truly overrated and waaaay to easy to track. I have a page, but I generally avoid FB like the plague.

One of the advantages of being old enough for Social Security is I DON'T HAVE TO embrace technology!
I read paperback books, don't own a kindle.
I read newspapers when I can find them.
I can't hear, so I don't have to worry about intelligent conversations.
I have grandchildren entering graduate school, children older than half our driving force and worry more about sunburning my head than what's on TV.
I remember 18 cent gasoline, worked my first paid job at minimum wage when it was 0.90/hr, worked at McDonalds before there was a Big Mac, and remember when Ike was president.

By 1972 I was working my way thru my Masters by driving a truck.
The lowest I ever paid for gasoline was 17.9/gal during a gas war about 1970. For you younger people, gas wars weren't in the Middle East, they were gas stations competing with each other by lowering the price until someone cried 'uncle'. Expensive gas was when it got up to 29 cents.
I had a 54 Volkswagen back then. $2 worth of gas got me back and forth to class, my job and any other things I needed for an entire week!
Tricky Dick was president, Interstate 84 thru Oregon and Washington was called I-80N and was only about 50% complete. (Old US 30 was the road it was replacing).
There were still orange groves in Orange County CA and what are now TA truck stops were largely Union 76 and Burns Brothers Truck Stops (out west anyway).
Diesel was 12-15 cents per gallon, we didn't have fleet cards and trucks didn't have AC, APUs nor air bags. My '68 Freightliner CO had a cummins 230 with a double stick. It did have an AM radio, but the engine was so loud you couldn't hear it well.
Furthest west I drove during the 70's was Gallup NM, but mostly Portland to SLC or Seattle to LA and everything in between.
White Bird, Lewiston Grade and Immigrant Hill (now Cabbage) were still switchbacks up the side of the mountain.
We listened to Country Western because that was about all we could tune in on the radio unless you were in a metropolitan area, but mostly we lived on our 23 channel CBs.
And I had hair.

I remember living in the gas lines with my Dad during the late 70's, and the day he came home from the "Conflict" in Vietnam a completely different person.
I remember when Woolworth's was the place to go in Denver, and K-Mart wasn't considered cheap yet.
I remember when 16th street in Denver wasn't yet a "mall". And there was no such place a Cherry Creek.
The big crop in Colorado was the Sugar Beat, and there were still some operating Silver Mines in the Mountains.
I also remember that when I was a kid the only time the grownups had a cocaine problem was when they ran out.
And speed was considered trucker medication.
Somehow I'm glad I was just a kid for the last two ... I never bothered with either growing up ... but since sex was out in the 1980's weed was the thing for us back then. Strange that it's legal in two states now.
