I'm out with my trainer, are we supposed to use my 30 min break to do a drop and hook? I drove about 3 hours we got the new load and my clock said 8 hours again. I don't mind driving the 11 hours he just seemed a little shady when I asked about it.

Nothing unusual at all. Efficient use of your hours.

I also prefer when my fuel stops coincide with when I need to take a break.

It's all about the most efficient use of finite time you have available.

Waste not, want not is definately the mantra when minutes here & minutes there add up quickly.

That's not an issue at all, I use my fuel stop to get my breaks in so I can maximize my drive time. If you are TNT YOU SHOULD be driving an 11 hour shift anyway, every day, team running means truck moving 22 hours a day unless loading or unloading. You will get the hang of it. But if your trainer turns out to be a douche, call your fleet manager

You still have to show some on duty time for the drop and hook. DOT officer will ask you how you magically managed to dolly down, disconnect, connect and dolly up the swap... Then he'd probably give you and inspection.... cause if you didn't log it, you surely didn't inspect the new trailer or else you would have logged it. right?

Come on Chickie! You know how it is... half of these guys aren't trying to give back to the industry through quality training. They're drinking the "truck slave" koolaide.

If that's the case, you know they aren't burning line 4 time if they think that they can get away with it.
