Is Superior hurting for drivers now? They posted an ad on Craig's List looking for drivers out of their Karns City, Pa terminal. Requirements were listed as 23 years of age and a valid Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsements. Never thought I'd see them advertise on there especially at this time of year. I was under the impression that freight slowed down through the winter. Sounds like a great opportunity.

Its been a couple of years but the last time I was in the Pittsburgh area there were a lot of sand cans being pulled around by day cabs in that area. Wouldn't surprise me if that had something to do with it. Back in the boonies like they are a sign on the fence won't do much.

All tank carriers are hurting for qualified drivers right now, not just us.

70k is possible, but realistically I'd say the majority of drivers fall in the 50-65k range

I didn't know that Superior was into the frac sand thing. That may explain it.

They aren't that I know of. They compete with that segment for drivers though.

Looks like I chose a good time to start with Superior! Tomorrow is my first day of training, just finished up all the testing and whatnot today. Looks like I'll be heading down to greer in September and then back on the road solo.

So what's the minimum days out you have to be with superior? Or do they have out and back loads? Looking into them but not sure how flexible they are with home time.

That will depend on the terminal and what they need. Its best to call and ask. The more desirable dedicated loads will probably go to more experienced guys with some longevity with the company. They pay everyone the same so that is one way to reward loyalty. Standard was 4-7 days out a while back.

Maybe if you never come home you can make that. I think 55-60k is more realistic.
