Hello everyone. I'm sure this question has been asked many times but when I did a few different searches I didn't get the answers I need. If you know of a thread which covers this, please, feel free to let me know. I'm I California and will be graduating from Roadmaster in early October (weekend program). I'm looking for company's who hire from my area, train new drivers, run the training truck like a solo truck and allow pets. Any lists available anywhere? I'm new to the industry but have no idea which company's to even look at. The only ones I've already spoken to are Knight and Melton, other than those two I'm clueless.
Company's which allow pets?

I believe that Trans Am, out of Olathe KS, allows pets. I came across a Trans Am truck driver who had a dog with him, that he let out, on a leash, to walk him. This was at a truck stop in Wichita KS, about a year or so ago.rroney7768 Thanks this.

Try doing an online search of companies that allow pets. Keep in mind some companies that allow pets may require a deposit
rroney7768 Thanks this. -
Interstate Distributor allows pets with a $$$ deposit. You can contact them for details. I drive for IDC and I see drivers with dogs all the time, they even have a decent sized pet run at their Lebanon, TN terminal so dogs have a place to run around while the drivers are getting the truck serviced or doing other things. I think they allow cats also as long as they are declawed. I don't have a pet in my truck, but I know they allow them.

Paschall Truck Lines allows pets under 100 lbs, and they've also very recently started a $200 a month tuition reimbursement program.

Melton is a good first choice.
Try these; maybe they still have pet policy:
Watkins-Shepard
Navajo Express
Southern Refrigerated Transport

Well, I see a lot of names being given out, without specifics as to their pet polices. I'd recommend you figure out which ones peak your interest to drive for, then talk to human resources at those companies to figure out which ones have a policy that suits you. I know the company I work for (Navajo Express) allows pets, but I don't know specifics of the policy.

thanks sky ... I'll check out their site
