I'd like to find that company. Best van pay I've heard of is 50cpm, and that is really 40-42cpm with several nearly unobtainable bonuses to get to 50cpm. If companies are starting to pay a base of 50 to 55 CPM I'd say that's a start toward getting pay up to where it should be. Too many drivers, including myself, are tired of the same cpm we made 10 or more years of inflation ago. Not counting that it is harder than ever to get the miles I used to get. All things considered, I should be making nearly 60 CPM to have the same take home pay I did in 2004 or so. And I know I'm not the only one stuck like this by any means.

That's the problem today! Unfortunately, the employers throughout America know it...........

Try superior carriers. We have a terminal in markham. We get .47 cpm loaded and .40 empty. In October it will be .50cpm loaded and .40 empty. Plus accessory pay. They work with you for hometime if you want to be system or you can get on a dedicated. I definitely wouldn't go Trimac since the pay is low

Yea and our hiring takes a little time too..at least for me anyway. We also get 10 a night to sleep in truck. And if your system you get 15.09 hr for breakdown/demarge. And 20 load or unload. October we are getting a raise. .50cpm loaded. .40cpm empty. And all hourly goes up 3 percent. We pay across the board. Everyone makes the same so there is no short loads because you make too much per mile like some other companies

For me, it depends on the whole picture. How many days does it take to get that 2500 miles? Am I off on weekends? Holidays? Do I get home during the week sometimes? Does the consignee almost always unload? Do I get paid the same regardless? If I'm sitting, am I sitting at home? Or at a truck stop? Is the mgmt decent?

Even at 40cpm, if the job is set up right, you might do $250-$300 per day, with only a few tens in the truck per week. And it might be pure gravy. CPM doesn't always mean everything.

I'm not the least bit tempted by those 55 cpm signs I see on the van doors -- to sleep in a truck 7 days a week and average 2800 miles.

I believe that 15.09 hourly rate is higher for Markham. They are one of the exceptions I believe and make more.
