I'm good. My advice given is the same as what I received...free. LOL. Give my steak to a military person coming back home.

Well thanks everybody.... I only asked about the washer and dryer thing cause I live 750 miles from the D.C. ..... well my washer and dryer does....lol... I will be staying in town on my off days... was just trying to get a bearing on what I need to look for in town..... my oldest daughter is a senior sooooooooo ...... have to tread lightly.... I hope to put my year in then make a transfer closer to Florida... even if it takes year and so many months.... When I started this process I applied for all the D.C.s in Texas and Louisiana and got the call for one in La. ......:biggrin_25523: I was like where the heck is that place...Opelousas...6848. Now I know.... around 750 miles from my front door..... Its ok though the "sacrifice" will be well worth it... so I have told the wife.... I know about all the extra days off and rest assured I will use them wisely.... do we (man I love that...we) get automatically 40 hours for our first week? or just get paid what we work for orientation? thanks again everybody and stay safe.

Good luck with it all. No freight 48 is a OK DC to work from. My DC sees a few of them in our area all the time. Florida can also take some time to get into. You will have to be very patient for those transfers to go through. Other than that, we welcome all LA drives to Texas to help out because we are the busiest region.

Well, It's official. I got the call today that I was good to go and I would get a call soon letting me know when orientation begins.

I want to thank you all again. My life is about to change for the better and you people helped a lot. See you at the Beaver Dam, WI DC soon!!

bill, how long did it take after you did the pre-trip/driving test/physical until you got the call? I'm in that in between stage now just waiting on the call.
