The cost of training for the 23 day Swift training program is $3,900.00. The $150 fee is just what they call a sitting fee and is non-refundable. They will have you sign a contract with them that you must pay off unless you are paying it in cash.

Welcome to the wonderful world of working your butt off for nothing. Swift loves people like you. Desperate for a job and no one else will hire you.

I'm only going by the information from people I know - its still more than I was making before and when I go solo then I'll make more.

yeah I got a drivers license. If I go take the test I don't think I'll have much luck passing if I have never driven a semi before :biggrin_25525:

I understand what you mean about the contract... not concerned b/c I will stay for the duration.

Also why would several friends (for 10+ years) steer me in the wrong direction? I know there is a ton of bs on this forum about swift but I honestly think that 90% of it is people just complaining. Its like if you give someone a chocolate cake they'll be pissed because its not yellow cake with vanilla frosting. Don't matter what job you got there is going to be a load of crap somewhere & if your a big company like Swift then there is always going to be a group of upset workers.

If I come back in 4 months and say I left them then I give you permission to rub dog poo in my face ;) LOL not that you would really do that (would you?)...

I think everything will be just fine though. Driving for Swift really can't be much different than driving for another company (pay and policies aside)..

yeah thats kind of a common thing these days. I don't care about a contract. I don't know why everyone is making such a big deal about this.
