Keep hearing on the XM radio that more companies are starting raising pay for their L/P drivers. Makes me wonder if JCT is considering the same.

THE OTHER HEADLIGHT THIS MORNING????? REALLY???

Nobody will ever be able to convince me these light bulb people don't engineer the EXACT life into it. I always scoffed at conspiracy theorists. Maybe Planned Obsolescence wasn't such an out there theory after all. $3.00 sealed beams that'd take a rock hit and laugh for YEARS. Now $20 halogens you can't even touch the glass or the oil on your hands will cause it to fry and a week later and you'll be out ANOTHER $20 (TWENTY DOLLARS FOR A LIGHT BULB??).

    Sheeze!! OK, sorry.

I made a full day, maxed my book. I did no harm and no harm was done to me by others . . . except friggin' GE . . .

Easy Amnial. Nobody got hurt. Freight was moved and there was no property damage. Just say goodnight and thanks.

    Goodnight and thanks.

Animal... I always thought the same thing about vehicle warranties... Do you ever notice the major component seem to last till just passed the warranty expiration then everything fails... I don't think that's by accident either...lol

Ran out of my 70 today about 660 miles short of delivery. I knew it would happen. I didn't have enough in the 70 tank to get the job done when I got the load, but I figured I could recap the balance. Problem was I forgot about those goose eggs from shop time that gave me the reset to start with chunking up my recap recovery. I'm actually kinda proud of this and you guys that are used to E-Logs will laugh (I-m an e-log newbie too: My old looseleaf logbook NEVER ran out of hours LOL. E-log sure does take trip planning to a new level. LOL.), like "DUH!" I was just proud I figured it out.

I went ahead and burned the 1.5 I had left this AM just to get 75 miles more behind me and get me outta the service plaza I pulled into with 18 whole minutes left on my 11 yesterday and to a Pilot where I can shower. Now I'm taking a long break til midnight and I'm switching to Night Flight and starting my driving shifts at midnight. Night flight will take off at midnight tonight, and land 9.5 hours later. Then down til midnight and finish the trip at the very front side (04:00) of the delivery window so I won't have to deal with Boston commuter traffic. There's no way anyone's gonna convince me that a place called New England Produce Center in Chelsea (Boston), MA is gonna get me unloaded until after rush hour is over no matter how early I get there. So I can come in early, go off duty and save some on my 70 to get me where I need to go after unload and the only thing I'm burning is in my 14 hour tank and that doesn't affect my 70 or 11. Those are my low tanks.

Only question on my mind now is: Where am I gonna go after? New England isn't real famous for outbound food. Seafood maybe. Lobsters/ Crabs, Flounder/ Sole or Clams/ Oysters going back west? It IS Oyster season. Chesapeake Bay Blues would be nice. Fuel is a lot cheaper in VA than MA. My plan has me getting enough in OH to get in and out of New England without buying fuel there but unfortunately not too far back out.

Yup, yup, yup! That's why I won't own/ lese/ drive one that I'm responsible for repairs on that's not under warranty unless it's an old one like a builder classic (Pete 379 in the 80's with a 3406E Cat comes to mind). If it's my daily driver and money maker; it has to be under warranty.

They (OEM's) know. They know. They design them that way now. I wasn't convinced before - but I am now.

Good luck with JCT. I just left after 4 months. Yes, short time I know but to much sitting and not enough money. Made over 1000 once but mostly around 500.. that's not good. Stayed out weeks, averaged 7.8 or better. Had a new truck so high payment. I made 500 payment was 1000 ..lol. All in all good company just didn't work out.. Be safe

Your story sound a lot different from most of the others. Have you analyzed what happens? It clearly wasn't winter weather; I'd love to hear, if you come back to tell the tale.

I would be interested in know what happened also. Usually I hear they spent to much time in the shop, fuel economy sucks on the truck or anything else besides miles. I know for me, that I get plenty of miles unless I am going home or coming from home.

But I know that everyone has a different experience.

I too would like more information. I have been here for 4 months and have only had 2 checks under a grand and they were both home time weeks. I never sit more then an hour or two usually have a preplan before I drop. Sounds fishy.
