It did for me. People have to be more well informed of who they are potentially purchasing a truck from.

I myself talked to these guys (American showroom) more than a handfull times. still I did not buy from them even with my messed up credit of 560 and $14k on hand for a down.If
People tend to blame some one else for their mistakes, seems real truckers know how water flows under the bridge. you have to do your homework and take responsability for your own. threads like this make us look like whiny little kids.
I bought my truck and they gave me no warranty AT ALL, offered me an extended on the mains but still I declined it; why? well, if you've driven for long and you know the equipment specs at the time of buying, you KNOW WHAT YOU"RE GETTING.
I wouldn't buy a truck that doesn't start without them putting me a new alternator and batteries on it, no BUTS !!

The truck i bought had miss-aligment problems, i test drove it and had the dealer fix it.
it had the engine light on and I had the dealer replace and fix it 'cause.
I declined the warranty since I know a CAT engine would not throw a rod through the block un-modified nor at least for as long as the warranty was good for.
rears ? i know how I drive and considering this is my own truck I will threat her like my wife and even wear dancing shoes while making the twins spool up.
    transmission same thing.
now, if one of the turbos went out? warranty wouldn't cover, neither injectors, electrical, ECU, Coolant system, A/C system, Brake system.. so what's the #### point at spending $2k in a warranty you won't use?

People (with all due respect) need to grow up and stop blaming other for their un-educated decisions.

By this logic this forum should shut down since the answer to every thread would boil down to, "Stop whining and do your homework."

Sadly American Truck Group is still alive and well:

Who could resist an offer like that?

meh , constructions the same way ...freakin builders get ya to the job site telling you you will be able to make good money on this . You carry a crew out and your guys get pissed when you turn it down ....... don't take rocket science to figure out the pie can be cut into a lot of pieces , just a matter of how long can you go on the small slice he cuts for you . If you know you won't make money wth get your tools out . Hell if I run around and bought materials for said project off of the prints then waited for the builder to say here is what I'm paying you . It may or not cover my materials , labor , insurance , transportation to and from .......yea I'm goin to give you 5k down drive off and wait for you to tell me what the payments are .......lab rats can still find the cheese even after they drink the cool aide :biggrin_25513:

The land line article is on some outdated information they dug up off the internet for muckraking marketing on competitors. It sounds like you might like taking advice from a fool. I know for a fact the payments are only about 450 a week and it is a lot cheaper than other places I have gone. The guy who started this trend sounds like he has a personal vendetta to settle. Get over it guy. I wish this company the best no other big shots out there are trying to get more owner operators on the road. They are only trying to increase their fleet drivers so they can drug test them every time they want a pay raise and pay them the bare minimum.
