I've sent many not so nice messages when I was with Werner.Ive sent them to dispatch, road brkdown, load planners. With big companies dispatch are peons like the drivers are.Their job is to dispatch you.Load planners find loads.Unfortunately dispatch has to take the heat for what other depts. do.So with these low miles you're getting you need to go directly to the source and confront them.

Just about every truck company has a handle. Most of them are of a derogatory nature.

You've been a good driver for 10 months and are all the way up to $.275/mile? Get another job immediately.
If you've indeed been a good driver, on time, no at-fault issues, you should be getting a full schedule. Something is missing in this post.Lepton1 and lonewolf4ad Thank this. -

There have been times where I've typed out a big, long angry message only to go and delete it before I sent it. There has also been a time where I did send out a big long angry message and DID send it...and then got called into the office a few days later to have a discussion.
I was working for a dry bulk company who sent me to western Wyoming to pick up soda ash. 24/7 loading but you had to load yourself. Meaning I had to position my rig on the scales right, go upstairs to the office, use the robot controller to position the loading chutes over the holes on the top of my trailer, and start pouring it in, watching the weight on each axle, print it off, find my BOL, etc. There was nobody up in the office that time of night.
I did go there 4 times but the 1st time dispatch didn't tell me what to expect there, and after wandering around for an hour looking for someone, only to find no one, it set me off. So I wrote the angry message to dispatch. It blew over.
I've told this next story once before, but I'll post it again.
Got a load from Chicago to Tucson. The bills said somewhere else but it had come off the rail in Chicago from Philly. I think it was a freight-forwarder BOL.
Anyways, dispatch's system showed the load going to Philly but my driver manager made sure I knew it was going to Tucson. This was on Friday.
Saturday night 3am, I'm sitting in New Mexico sleeping. Heard the QC going off, beeping like mad.
"Brandon why are you in New Mexico? Please call us ASAP you are almost 2,000 miles out of route!!!"
I ignore it, go back to bed. 5 minutes later they're calling my cell. So I answer it.
Long story short, I made them think for a minute that I didn't know what I was doing, and that I was indeed 2,000 miles out of route.
They freaked out, for sure. After I assured them that I was indeed delivering in Tucson on the Monday morning, they were okay.
Funny how drivers know more than night/weekend dispatch.
They're just there to answer the phones and do check calls etc. Lowest of the low jobs in dispatching.Blacktop Junkie Thanks this. -
I sent an email to one of the suits in charge of planners. He apologized for me being poorly dispatched and immediately gave me loads to rectify the problem. Moral of the story is don't blindly accept the situation you're in and know how to write a well versed email. And in response to star boy that's what covenant pays my level of experience as a solo driver. I was making 20.5 as a team driver but I wasn't making this thread to whine. More so for comedic relief. The reason I'm still with this company is because I know what company I want to go with but thru want a year experience and I'd rather have one job on my history as opposed to 2 making me look like a job hopper
Lepton1, Mean Streak and Sik_Life Thank this. -
Glad it turned out okay for you. Hang in there for the next 2 mths., then best of luck with your new gig!
