Dogs are a fickle animal..Love you one day, then lock you out of your truck the next.
You call a locksmith, and your dog just sits there with a smirck on his doggie face.

You finally get into the truck, and your jerk dog wont hunt.Wants you to go to the grocery store.
Todays "No Hunting" dogs pisp me off.
In my day (last week) dogs had to hunt, but todays sissy dogs want everything for free.
    Where does it end??

JB Hunt Recruiter sent me an email today, and honest to God it said "we have lowered our hiring standards"Come work for us.I had applied to them to do a dedicated for Corsicana Bedding and they would not hire me with 2.5 million accident and citation free miles and 22 years of driving, would not tell me why....What a bunch of jabronies...

They are extremely straightforward with you on the intermodal side.

OP they are still fazing out OTR in favor of Intermodal and Private Fleet accounts with there DCS division. OTR is no where near as profitable as DCS and DCS doesn't even bring in half the income that Intermodal does for JB Hunt. If you live by a Norfolk Southern Intermodal terminal JB Hunt will have intermodal jobs available there. Try giving that a shot. Or if that is not available check into there DCS accounts.

With your record why would you even consider working for JB?

This is the part I don't understand .
I was talking with a lady driver, from a different company I rather don't mention now, who dropped a trailer in my yard and she was complaining about the same thing. Not being able to go home and see her family because the dispatchers tells her that they cannot find a load for her.
It took me 5 min to find two really good paying loads for her and I didn't even try to get more money from the broker . To bad I couldn't booked the loads for her .

JB Hunt is not a bad place to work. Like all the big OTR companies it depends on theaccount your on,your driver manager and how fast you can be ready for the next load. To be sucessfull at JB hunt, at least here in SOCAL you need to be on the INTERMODAL account. especially the Local Day shift drivers they averaging over 1100 per week. They get paid mileage .32 cpm (1600 -2200+ miles per week average ALL HUB MILES) + $25.00 per stop plus an additional $35 .00 per live load/unload+ $14 per hour for detention,$10.00 for dead heading a short distance averaging four to five stops per day. And because its day shift they get alot of live load/unload.When you do the math at the end of the day it all adds up,its not uncommon for a driver to make $250-350 per day. Very low turn over rate on the day shift local Intermodal, alot of drivers been on that account over 10 years. To get in you have to start on the night shift, because its night and most of the customers are closed means its mostly drop n hook, which means you wont consistently make as much as the day shift drivers butyou will average about $150_200 most nites.

regional western states is a decent account too. unfortunately their trucks do break down quite a bit.. STAY AWAY FROM THE PROCTOR AND GAMBLE ACCOUNT.._Especally out of the southgate yard. JB Hunt got great benefits too.. If you can find an account that work for you will love JB Hunt.
