in the near future, I will replace my compressor. I think I have a bendix 550 truflow. is there one available that would build up air pressure faster? to help make up for the leaks I have? is there a btter brand than bedix? the last one had leaks not more than 1 year after installation.

Not trying to be a jerk but you would be better off fixing your leaks than trying to put a bigger compressor on.

hey what's with all the thanks to this post?:biggrin_2559: yeah your correct. no offense taken. just trying to find leaks are sometimes difficult. but I am not replacing just to keep up with the leaks. it's just that time so I am looking if there is something better. when I went to buy my air gov the truck pro employee recommended the new type with the blue cap. it is not adjustable like my old one, but I like it better. it builds more pressure & helps when I have to air tires. had several punctures this last year, fixed all myself right on the spot.

You may look at TU FLO 750. But this is more expensive compressor. I think they all manufactured by Bendix...

Your compressor might last more than a year if it didn't have to run constantly to keep up with your leaks

ill be watching this thread as well. not that i have bad air leaks i mean my truck does leak some air but not enough to matter takes about 6 hours for the system to drain down after shutting the truck off. witch is far less than the 2psi per min single 4psi per min combination requirement by dot.

but i would be interested in a higher flow compressor mainly for when im pulling my belly dump. has a huge air tank on it that takes for ever to fill if the trailer has been sitting around long enough to bleed down, and they use a ton of air to charge back up after you dump a load.

btw you know you can set a adjustable regulator at the pressure you want, i have just a regular governer on mine and i adjusted it from 120 to 135. take the cap off loosen the nut and turn the stud with a screwdriver to adjust your set pressure then once you get it where you want it tighten the nut back up. i bumped my preasure up for a couple reasons one of them was for airing up tires as well.

My compressor has 2 cylinders it was replaced when the motor was inframed. You'd think it'd air up quick with 2 cylinders but it never has.
