Or go work for a smaller company that dont believe in this sort of thing .

One of these days the big companies will realize when they finally go through all the people that they are able to brain wash , that hey we made a mistake somewhere along the line.

Once a real driver shortage hits they will have to make some changes.

You mean like the massive driver shortage that was going to happen when EOBR's came around? You mean that driver shortage? The one that never happened when all the guys who said 'never in my truck' didn't quit and leave the industry once they actually got EOBR's in their trucks? Is that the one you're talking about?

Well since you mentioned that . I mean they claim we are in a pretty big shortage as of now, so what is causing this shortage they are speaking of ?

Not all companies have the eorb's , well most all big ones do but there are still alot of small companies out there with small fleets that get away without installing them. Now once they get caught running illegal all the time then yeah they will be forced to do so.

I am not gonna sit here and argue over the "driver shortage" subject because its basically pointless , but eventually they are gonna go to far with all this ########.

This argument is the most slippery slope in the history of man. Without turning this political, any privacy invasion whatsoever can be justified on that basis.

If these cameras find their way to my company, I will be buying my own truck.

And what happens when its not the company but their insurers that are pushing for the camera eventually followed by all Insurance companies demanding cameras in all the commercial vehicles that they insure , where is everyone going to work then to avoid them ?

How is it privacy invasion when you're doing an activity in a place where you have no expectation or right to privacy?

That could be very possible that insurance co's could require them one day I guess .
The only thing is tho , I forsee the insurance co's going after the more accident prone companies.

I mean if a company that has 50 trucks had one accident in the last year verses say a company that has thousands of trucks and has 5 accidents a week. Who is the insurance company gonna hit first?

Companies that have thousands of trucks tend to self-insure.

If the time comes that my insurance company came to me and said 15 to 25% increase in $ on COVERAGE COSTS without cameras , it would be 25 CAMERAS on order ASAP.

    Exactly !!!!

So why would a insurance company say you have to do this ? Its not . Its the company that made the decision to do it.

I was waiting for that response. .
