FLD 120. 1999 3406E Cat. Rockwell Cruise buttons on the shifter.
I lost my cruise awhile back. I just was reading on here about the Johnny bar and how it could kick it off.
Playing with the bar the cruise/high idle works when i apply johnny but when i release it the idle and cruise kicks off.
johnny brake applied = cruise works. release it and it stops working

Change the micro switch on the johnny brake handle.
-
I can press the brake pedal and it will work too
-
Just has 3 air lines

I found an air pressure switch. When unhooked it doesnt do anything. When hooked up and brakes applied it allows the cruise to work. When I pull a lead off the.cruise cuts out. But its not the brake light switch because I replaced that a month ago.

CK. for the 2 air powered switches screwed into air brake lines behind dash panel, some are off/on others are on/off someone put wrong switch in. keeps cruse off when brakes are in use?
Catliner Thanks this. -
To clarify here, I think the OP found the right switch, it's just like baha said, it's the wrong switch. Those switches are either normally open or normally closed, and which ever is installed, you need the other flavor.

Yeah I guess so. Ill put in a NC switch so when I hit the brake the cruise kicks off. Now that I think about it this started after I replaced the low air (normally closed) switches. Thanks for the help guys. Ill post a reply if changing the switch monday fixes it. I have no idea how this happened. When I replaced the other switches on the manifold it was wired right
