    What is a 70/30 bid?
Are you line haul or local?
How recently did they change the pay scale? On their website it shows an hourly wage of $19.99 to start.

Stay away from central lol. Be careful with con-way if you choose them. Asia I know NOTHING about. FXF talk to the drivers from the terminal, they are differmt eveywhere. Even UPSF check out as they tend to play games, and they start you really low till you top out the. Your pay has a huge jump. .

i would choose ODFL and Holland. Even though holland is under YRC and May have some issues it's still good to at least get LTL experience with them

70/ 30 is what we call bid vs flex. City p & d has start times for 70% of the guys in a barn the other 30% are flex (call in everyday at various times). Same for line haul.

I run the road at night. Usually 350 miles or so, working the dock at the reship terminals and coming home in the morning. Start at 1930-2000 end somewhere between 0730 and 1000. Thsee times are depending on the freight. I am # 4 from the bottom in senority out of 24 people. I work everyday 12-14 hrs and have never missed a day or not been called.

The pay change is recent. Within the last month.

I think the staring pay now is 19.60 and .48 cent per mile, in the eastern region. I know this for sure, right now I make 20.02/.47. As of 1/4/15 (due to the new pay scale) I go to 23.00/.51 I top out 8/2015. 25.41/.6001

If you are going to stay in trucking you could either go D/H or tanker. Tanker is wat better than freight because it's not a hard job. You still make great money with early start times and no bidding on anything. I'm not talking about fuel delivery , I'm talking about chemical tanker. If you find the right company they will train you and you'll be set. Quality carrier trains inexperienced ppl in tankers and I believe Distech does too.
    Daily routine in chemical tanker.
    start times are usually 4/5am
    Average 1-2 loads a day
Maybe 1hr of physical labor a day
    Off weekends and holidays

    ACH1130 Thanks this.

Cement transport is the same as chemical but more dirt because of the dust. Maybe a lil more physical being that you have to beat on the trailer to get it fully emptied out.

Are you required to work the dock in the middle of your run at your turn-around spot?
Seeing that you are paid mileage while driving and hourly when working the dock, are you always on straight time while the docks because it is in middle of your shift?

The Cleveland region will be 25.41, I'm not sure how far east it goes, I understand that NMF (Miami FL) is the same as us. There are (4) pay scales now, I know that XDE (Detroit) will go to 26.06 and I know that XGH (Gary/Hammond) is a bit higher but not much. It's something to do with the economic area.

I'm not sure how the country is divided into the (4) regions, like where the lines are drawn but there is definitely just the (4) scales now.
