Thanks NYVET! I have my pre-trip/road test next week and read on here that they check your credit history so that had me a little worried because of past medical bills with my wife. Good to know!

Its just another way for the company to verify that you are you and such.

Drozzer, how far west do you guys run out of Sealy? Do you run El Paso or does Plainview handle that area?

Plainview handles El Paso. We run as far south as Arkansas Pass, west would be to Lagrange and Rockdale, north up to Conroe and east to Liberty.

Well, 1st day of orientation is in the books. Lots of info, really enjoyed the video on the history of the company. But thanks to you guys, its wasn't overwhelming. To add to the fun, they are doing the truck rodeo here on Thursday and Friday! The GTM wants us new guys to participate! The national rodeo grand champion came out of this DC so they are high on it. Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY has been super nice!! A lot of the drivers came in throughout the day and welcomed us. Going to grab a quick breakfast then its off to day 2. Can't believe I'm really here!!!

I will be doing my rodeo on Thurs/Friday/or Saturday. A good time, the opportunity for a great steak, and we get a very cool blanket this year. :)

So, I will have fun with it. I did well last year, but you never know if it is your day or not. I did not do well in the AZ Championships (did well on the pretrip and test, not on the driving). That was not my day. LOL It was still a very good time though, and I would happily do it again.

We have only had 4 transers in, so it is looking like there may be a hiring in our future. It will interesting to be on this side, congratulating the new hires and encouraging them. It will take a while for us to do that. Buckeye is not well versed at hiring. LOL

Welcome noninetofive, and enjoy. It is a great job.

As quickly as it began, its over!!! Finished with orientation in 4 days!! Granted it was just 3 of us, but I grinded though the CBL's yesterday and got them done. Yikes!! Nobody warned me about those!! Met my trainer yesterday, really nice guy. We have a Tuesday out next week at 1000. Get 4 days off and the weather is supposed to be fantastic this weekend!! Found out about the FLW and really like that!! Oh, I got a 5/2 5/3 right off the bat!!! I couldn't believe it!! Everybody has been super nice and helpful. All the drivers we saw during the week offered help and all were very welcoming. Did the rodeo, didn't do well, but that was the 1st time I had been in a truck in about 11 days and it was a day cab at that!! But I got my 2015 Walmart truck rodeo hat and a nice LED flashlight for doing it!!! I now know why so many guys come here and retire. For years many of us were looking in with our noses pressed up against the window. But now to see how it is from the inside, its really something to behold. I thinks its gonna take a while to loose that "I can't believe I'm a Walmart driver" feeling!! Again, I want to give my heartfelt thanks to drozzer69, NYVET, grabberblue 12, Extreme4X4, and all the other Walmart Private Fleet drivers that have come on this forum to help those of us like myself. As I stated before, I hope as I get more time and experience, to come back and pay it forward and hopefully add something to help someone else achieve their dream!! Thanks a lot guys. Well, I'm going to get packed, and head home to the wife. She's been on vacation this week and is super excited that I'm coming in a day early. Stay safe out there guys and have a great weekend.

Sounds real good 9to5! Smaller class usually will get done in 4 days. Well we all forgot about the cbls. You do all of them at the beginning then one or two on your anniversary date. Geez can't leave any secrets here lol! Glad your happy and getting a program right off the bat is good for you cause you won't have to slip seat. Other locations are not as fortunate. Enjoy your home time and have fun next week with you "trainer". Proper term here is mentor. You know how to drive, you don't need to be trained for that. Your mentor will help you get into a routine and guide you in proper performance while on the job!
