I've noticed there are some who troll this forum on the regular just to stir the pot .
You know the old saying of "those who can , do. Those who can't, teach."
Im reminded of this when I read this trolls posts. Obviously they failed at it and is out to let everyone know that leasing is a stupid idea because he can't make it work, hence, you will not make it work.
Its not just about money. If it were only about money I would be a teamster in Detroit or Chicago where I'd punch a clock and not give a crap how long things take because I'd be hourly with a slew of benefits.
Its a means to an end. It's a path , (my path, not yours) to go towards ownership.
It may not be for you, it may be something you would not do. I don't care what you would do or not do. You aren't living through me.
I'm alive ( so far). I'm moderately healthy. ( sort of ) and I'm doing well in my eyes.
Some me people just like the idea of peeing on other peoples actions, just because it's not what they would do.
Im all about wisdom and advice, if asked, but nobody wants to read the fortune before getting the cookie.

I also notice the advise of "this company is terrible! Stay away!" When you look close...no, they haven't worked there either, it's based on what they "heard and read on here"
this forum is full of vast information if you can do the work and find the right thread. It is also full of hate mongers out to bad.mouth companies that they only read about.
Secondhand knowledge will never give you an encounter of the 3rd kind. (Personal interaction)
sorry I'm venting on here. I don't like the taste of the stew below. -
Which is why for me TTR is a pretty good source of information about a wide range of topics across the entire trucking industry. It is not, however, the only source and the number of posters whose opinion comments I trust completely is very small.
But I, too, get a bit tired of people hatin' on company leases, especially since most of them haven't leased. I'm all for drivers staying on the company side and never wanting to lease. But if a driver wants to, let her. We can succeed or fail in any lease. It depends on the driver's own 3 P's: Preparation, Planning, and Performance.popcorn169 and Wickedfire77 Thank this. -
Either way, drivers are like kids, they won't learn until they get hurt. Try as you will to prepare or prevent it.popcorn169 Thanks this. -
I just wanted my thread back at the top.

Update on me: took an overnight ford run to mid PA and going back to Lansing. My rash has faded. Nobody called to say I needed an infusion to live, so good on that front. I carved a pumpkin with the kids. And my "black sheep" brother is moving in with my mom. Never thought I'd see the day.
SheepDog and popcorn169 Thank this. -
Swapping my load back to Michigan to cover the delivery end of a ford load . I find it funny. There is another driver I talked to who said he wasn't getting miles. That he has sat for over a day. I was shocked. I told him that they needed someone to cover ford loads to CT...he said "I don't do east coast".
That explains it.
Heres a tip kids; you don't make much money sitting and being choosy.
If you prove yourself reliable, you will never sit.
If you are leasing a truck for the sole purpose of refusing loads to the northeast, I think you have already lost.Oakland Raiders Forever, popcorn169 and SheepDog Thank this.
