that is so true. Soon as I pull up to the shipper or receiver I hit off duty. I don't show a load or unload, I pick my load up and haul ###. I only show pre and post trips.. Been doing it this way for years and never had a compliant with reguarltory. This way I can save some time on my 70.

Youve been very, very lucky. If DOT ever audits your logs at random, have a ball.

In the day of E-logs he might just be fine.. There is not alot of D.O.T. officers that like to deal with E-logs nor the hassle of reading them. Now if Schneider as a whole got audited they may come knocking, But in all honestly as long as he is not violating his 14 or 11 hour they will most likely just ignore it.

So basically you only show driving? You never pick up or deliver anything? Is that what they teach now?

I don't think anyone "taught" them anything. People have been figuring out ways of saving time on the clock sense we started having logbooks. This is trucking if you aint breaking a rule you are mostlikly at least bending it.

People always seem to act like there hands are totally clean.

That's not saving time that's just blatantly not filling a log correctly.

Falsifying a log is not filling out a log correctly. Do your show all of your time you are sitting in a shipper's office as line 4? Or the time you are sitting behind the wheel with the engine running do you show that as line 3 or 4?? So if not you cannot talk about the next fella
