Actually yes I do. Only time I hit line 1 is 30 min for lunch break, line 2 for 10 hour break and the rest is line 3&4.

I've never worked for a company (including 4 1/2 years as a company hand for Schneider) that did not require at least some time on line 4. I know RB is a L/O, but I just can't believe SNI is OK with this. Heaven help him if he gets into a wreck...that's all I'm saying. 15 years of this, I agree in saying absolutely you want to save every minute you can ( though some drivers today are so anal about doing so that they inconvenience and even endanger others while trying to save those two lousy minutes).
I myself have always logged with what I call "an air of authenticity". Every line perfectly truthful? Of course not. But I've also never had a DOT log violation either, let alone more than a casual glance at my logs by an LEO. Had a diesel cop in NY tell me once that if he sees a lot of long, straight lines, he digs deeper. But if there are some duty status changes in the mix, he tends not to.mike101402 Thanks this. -
Well i show pre/post trip fuel and load/unload. Im not going to lie and say i have logged every load/unload cause sometimes i honestly forget. But pre/post and fuel i never forget. And thats one reason im not ever leasing a truck from a company, not because its a rip-off or such(i actually think Schneider has a great lease program) but because i dont want to violate a comapny's policy and they cancel my lease and take ALL the money i have put into that truck.

well....it ain't quite that bad.....they'll give you the opportunity to correct the err in your ways.
Look, a lot of people get freaked out by little things. Here's what I think you need to know:
The day the DOT audits your logs, is the day that your driving career was over yesterday.popcorn169, 48Packard, rickybobby and 2 others Thank this. -
I was taught you just flag the city you stopped in. You didn't have to put a reason for stopping. As long I don't work over 14 hr or drive 11 hrs or work over 70 hrs... Why does it matter? I'm working within my hrs. Technically you don't have to show a post trip, its a SNI thing.

I don't know why people think they need to log something they don't do. If I'm not getting paid then it's my time no one elses. D.O.T say's you have to log on line 3 when the truck is being driven and line 4 when your being compensated for your time to include fueling and Pre trips and any non driving job as well. Sitting at or in a shipper/receiver I'm not being paid for so I log line 2. anything under 5 minutes on the E logs reverts back to the previous line logged so why would I log line 4 to check in at guard shack for 3 minutes to only have it revert to line 3. As for the logs being audited if you've ever worked at SNI you'd know if there's the slightest mistake they will let you know before D.O.T ever will

Anything on-duty under 7 minutes is not required to be logged per DOT regs. It does not take more than 7 min to get a BOL signed. When I was leased on as an independant at a small reefer company, I had my logs, paper at that time, checked over in a few instances. Nothing has ever been said to me about logging time at shipper/consignee as off-duty, but do what makes you feel comfortable.

Does posting on TTR need to be on line 4?
