So far they have been extremely flexible on home time for me. Whenever I have asked to be back in they have always gotten me back on time and typically a day early. They have never questioned my amount of time off and I have taken a bunch off. Mostly for family stuff. I can say they are definitely a family oriented company.
My new career with Superior Carriers begins!

Well, we got another raise effective in October. Will be making .50cpm loaded now. No raise on the empty but we are getting 3% on the hourly rate.

One thing about our pay package is there are checks and balances in place that guarantee that you will make a check. As long as you are away from home layover pay pretty much guarantees $150 a day.
The only time pay is a problem here is when freight gets slow and they deadhead you home to sit until the next load. At least you are at home in that case. Otherwise you get paid. -
Well we have lost a few good drivers due to equipment. I know Superior is working to get the trucks changed out as quick as possible. My ProJunk is having issues again and will need to go back to the shop. Getting tired of it myself but hoping we will get some new trucks before the end of the year and hopefully I will be on the list for one of them.
I am seriously tired of the slow speeds and lack of pulling power our trucks have. 64mph is a joke out there on the highways when everyone else is running 70mph. I don't want to quit the company but these slow trucks have me seriously considering it. Corporate, if you are reading this please turn the trucks back up. You are not saving any fuel and if anything creating a road hazard with the slow trucks. We constantly get caught up in traffic because the trucks are too slow to get out of the way. 35mph up Monteagle is just insane and dangerous. One of us is going to get rear ended one day. I could go on. Ask some of the drivers here. They will tell you the same thing. -
You still running dedicated or are you back in the system? I hear you on the trucks. Mine has been OK since all the EGR issues and I have been luck enough to not be stranded on the side of the road. Have you heard how the Macs and Petes are holding up?
My latest break down was an AC compressor. That is something you are tempted to let go with winter coming on. Don't do it. Mine froze up and would have left me on the side of the road had I not caught the belt it broke on my pretrip. Boiled half of my coolant out limping 3 miles to the TA.
Fortunately High Point has a good shop and running half of my miles empty is easier on the equipment. With everything else going on in my life I don't mind staying home an extra day or 2 so I write up every little thing when I get in. It always seems like they need me to go out 1 day before I actually want to each trip anyway.Chinatown Thanks this. -
I have not heard much out of the Pete trucks because they are so few but I have heard about the Macks. They seem to have some issues as well. Leaking sleeper tops, a/c quit working, 12 volt outlets not working, etc. I have not heard of any major mechanical issues though. I have heard they pull better on hills than the ProJunks. -
Is it hard to get on at superior carriers, I live in Greensboro,NC and going back to school to take a refresher course
