Why is my truck riding so rough?

Ok, how do you tighten up slack in a U Joint. If there is slack, then check your yokes for wear and replace the yokes and new U Joints. They are like what 100.00 a piece. Better than replacing a drive line on the road

you wn't see oil leaks. that oil dries out pretty quick. i've seen my shocks from time to time. 50 miles down the road you'd never know.

worn shocks won't make a vehicle ride rough. it'll make the vehicle bounce. there's no stiffness in the shocks to control the bounce.

wouldn't make sense if pull the shock off, pull it out and watch it drop as you let go.

Isnt that what I said. Pull a shock and check it. also If they are good they will be warm after you have been running a while.

I I have a 99. 379 non air ride cab and it rides good.

I drove for a company years ago with the old KW 8 bag air ride, and the shop would not set the ride height, so if your truck was set wrong, it rode worse than spring suspension. Some rode great, and others were a night mare to drive. I used to set my own.

I drove for another company that had all the same spec Volvos, and I got a 2000 that was miserable. New shocks, air bag settings and everything else checked and never did find out why that truck was different than all the rest.....
