Got my class A permit today with Tankers endorsement. Heard Schneider is hiring students straight out school making $50,000 a yr. for their tanker division. Was going to get the doubles and triples endorsement but they said it won't show on the permit so i will just wait on that... Everything is going good so far.
Starting class in a few hours.

Started on the range today. We did Pre-trip 1st part of the day. Basic double clutch shifting and down shifting, straight backing driver and blindside, offset backing, blind and driver side(had a little trouble with the offset backing). did a small obstacle course making wide turns to get around curbs, and light post. did a clutch control test. Our instructor also let us take a crack at the alley docking. I actually got that on my first try. wasn't 100% str8 but he said it was a pass. Tomorrow we are suppose to hit the highway for a little while. All in all today was a good day.

Today was another good day. We actually took the truck and trailer on the road. I got to drive 37 miles today. We did mostly country roads where there were little traffic and practice getting up to 8 or 9 gear and down shifting back to 6 then doing it all over again. I did really well at that. he would also point out spots where he wanted us to be in 6 gear by the time we got to the spot. it was a lot of fun. we also practiced our turning at intersections, I got to merge in traffic as well and did about 10 or 15 miles of highway driving. we got back to the range and practice alley docking. I did decent on that today but not my best.

that's a pretty tough situation. this past weekend we went on the course we will be taking for the test and we did some city driving. I must admit, I once was one of those 4 wheelers cutting of a semi truck. Now I know how it feels... those 4 wheelers make me nervous. we will be doing night driving this weekend. 10am-10pm on Saturday and 1pm-9pm on Sunday.

Once 4 wheelers finds out just how much is into driving a big truck they have a whole new respect for the industry. The bad part is those 4wheelers are few and far between.
