I have heard a few good things about TA. Do you know if they hire out of New Orleans?
TCAM Driver Thanks this. -
OriginalBigfoot Thanks this.

Thanks for the answer. I 'm looking for my last job, already retired, but I figure I got another 10 good years in me to work! Just trying to find the best company before I jump in. Most of them don't hire out of here which surprises me, because we are in a major freight lane!

Just a little run down of some of the questions I've been asked.....
What type of equipment? - Freightliner Cascadia and Kenworth's ...tons of New trucks.. .but all less than 3 years old.
How many miles? - just depends on what division you go into.
What are the divisions? - Solo OTR, Teams OTR, regional, Dedicated Solo and teams, Etc.
Pay? - depends on experience......newbies usually start around .35-37 com experienced can go up to around .52 or so I believe. Hazmat is not required but does pay .04 extra com. Stop pay, layover pay, etc. All miles are paid. Loaded or empty. Paid weekly.
Logs? Quallcomm MCP 2000.
Fuel? EFS Fuel Cards with cash advance ability.
Navigation? Navigo on quallcomm.
Terminals? Birmingham, AL. Atlanta,GA. Dallas, TX. Kansas City, MO . North Liberty, IA. North Jackson, OH. Eagan, MN. Janesville, WI. Grove City OH. Indianapolis, IN Fontana,CA. and several drop yards.
Driver unloads? - maybe a driver assist every once in a while, but paid very well for that. I've only had this a couple of times. Very easy. Oh and.... Shops at terminals.
Insurance? Health, dental, vision, 401k....Etc. pretty cheap but excellent insurance. Hard to beat.
Orientation? Usually at Birmingham or Indy I think. They get you there and put you up in a nice hotel (not crappy one like other companies) Orientation last about 3 days. Includes the basic company info, driving skills classes, and the basics. You will take a drug test (hair), a physical (if you don't already have one), and an easy human performance test. You will take a driving test during orientation. pretty much your basic orientation.OriginalBigfoot Thanks this. -
I have Hazmat, TWIC and current physical... I don't know about the human performance test at my age though (56).

Website says only teams out of New Orleans...
-
Well , I can tell you......it's really a pretty good company to work for. The only problem I've ever had was with a few weekend dispatchers. But that's the case everywhere I think. Lol. If you are interested in talking to someone let me know. I can give you the best recruiters number. She's a no BS kind of recruiter too. She was actually my recruiter. You can shoot me a message and I'll give you her info.

I know two people who solo out of New Orleans. Plus the website doesn't always list all of the things available. It just depends how often u want to take home time.
-
I've seen some older than that pass the human performance test. It's really easy. Just want to make sure you can get up in a trailer and not die cranking the landing gear. Lol.
OriginalBigfoot Thanks this.
