At prime you never will OWN the truck withSNI you do acrue equity. Here you can actually own the truck if you wish and NO ONE Dispatchs you but YOU. I've talked to Prime driver's ho have to stay out 6 month's to make a living and youre stuck with whatever they put on you.

    well that doesn't sound good.

Supposedly after the lease term is up at Prime you can buy it for "what it's worth".. whatever that means to them I guess.
Yes a dispatcher sucks but supposedly you can turn down loads if you wish.
Some Prime drivers do really good and some really bad from my research.
I met one guy averaging a little over $1.80 on all miles there but he didn't tell me how many miles a week he averages.

I know Reefer pays more, plus 72% is more.. BUT how much sitting around.. that is the question.
No way to really know for sure without doing it.
At least with Schneider I can plan myself and do all drop and hooks (if I want) so I don't have to wait around much as I would with set appointment times and waiting forever to get unloaded running against my clock.
Prime does offer to train noobies though if you want, sound silly but it's still another possible way to make more money.
With Schneider though if I see a freaking ice storm heading my way I can GTFO of dodge, Prime didn't give me confidence over the phone when I asked if I can turn down loads and be sent a different direction when bad weather is headed my way.
A day sitting is a day sitting, I'd rather take cheap freight to GTFO to get in a better area away from bad weather than sit on a load for a day or two due to roads being shut down.

I am leaning towards Schneider just because I think I'd be happier, money isn't everything after all anyway.

I have a Friend who did Prime for 18 month's and the closer he got to the end of the lease the more his miles went down. yes they pay 72% but you pay trailer rental fee qualcom fee transflo fee you pay 100 % of everything and you never own the truck. They say you can buy it for what it's worth at that time but in a contract you should know up front. If you are going to run a business you need to control allaspects of the business you can and never depend on someone else who controls your revenue. I will never run where I can't dispatch myself.

hmmm I never heard of a "trailer rental fee" from them.

I'll ask for a copy of the lease from Prime and Schneider before accepting them and leaving my current job, lets see whom if any follows through.

    Here's another ?
Schneider told me even if you put $5k down you can't spec out the new truck the way you want.. that they order the trucks all the same and all you'd have is a choice of the couple different colors.
That sounded strange, is that true?

They do spec the trucks the same and the colors are limited but they do it to keep costs down and profit up, that being said the premium trucks are O/O spec'd to a degree such as fridge Tri pac gauge package ect. so it's not a stripped down truck or standard company truck. The Freightliner's are company spec'd but not governed and they do have a battery Heat and air system.
