I was told if you get a brand new Freightliner with $1k down even on a 1 year lease Schneider gives you a bonus of $1400 that goes into your maintenance account.
Seems to be a pretty good deal.

The Schneider Finance web page says that the KW has a 4 yr, 400,000 mile warranty, so at 120K miles/year I should be able to stay in the warranty period. At 42K miles, this is virtually a new truck, and three years is the minimum they would do. It's a pig in a poke to sign on to a new company AND take on a three year lease, but I'm pretty confident that Choice and I are going to get along, lol.

    Thanks

    Question of the day is...

Is it worth it to spend $5k on a brand new KW or spend $2k on a barely used one?
I'm trying to find the value of getting a new one but I don't see it.. being supposedly you can't spec it out anyway.

No. If it was returned for mechanical issues, I'll find out about it before signing. Any other reason might be nice to know, but irrelevant to me.

I was looking on the Detroit website for info on the DT 12 transmission. I may have misunderstood but I believe the DT 12 was exclusive to Freightliner (at least initially). In fact, the first DT 12 (in a Cascadia EVO w/ the DD15) went to Schneider. There may be a contractually obligated exclusive sales period but eventually Detroit will want to sell these tranny's to Paccar, International, whoever.

PR- please let me know what you find out about your "Western Triangle" I would like to know if there is something out there that would include Denver as a leg as long as it doesn't turn out to be the Bermuda Triangle. Recruiting declined to work with me since I am about 4 hours out of Denver; however, if I can find a way to bolster my case (some good western routes), I will ask them to re-consider. Thanks

Reason you can't detroit in kenworth dd15 or dt12 is freightliner owns Detroit. You can get a Eaton ultra plus or the new Allison's FuelSense automatic. But Schneider only orders the kw / peters with manual.
