Five days off without pay, sounds fun. Make sure when they accept the drop in Colton that they put my name on the list of people that doesn't want to "take it from there"....sort of speak.
Sort of kidding...I'll try anything once. TRY being the operative word.....
My quote: "A trucker scared of backing is like a scholar scared of books".
Too bad I love trucking so much. I love books as well, just not a scholar.

I did lots of restaurant drops when I was with FFE. Hated every one of them. Usually the LTL guys took them, but being a company driver at the time I had no choice.

Fuel price at the Loves in Hutchins, TX (South Dallas) is $3.25 a gallon. I swear every O/O in the area is lined up for fuel. Good thing I don't have to leave til morning.
kgbigholler Thanks this. -
For whatever reason the Love's in Hutchins always has the cheapest fuel in that entire region by a landslide I do not know why but been like that for quite a while now
kgbigholler Thanks this. -
In addition to Hutchins, always check the Loves in Fort Worth on I-35 W at exit 40. Usually the same price as Hutchins but is currently $3.39.

20k of household items. Plan to be in Colton on the 15th to drop this trailer and let a local/regional driver deliver to the individual stores.

For wanting teams so much, they treat their 2nd seats like second class citizens.
A friend of mine was second seat for another fella I know and they treated my friend pretty rudely after they let the first seat go, even though my friend's record with them was spotless.
After he confronted John Mallory for sending him home along with the first seat, John finally backed down and offered to find him another first seat. He wouldn't even let him lease a truck, even though he has 3.5 years of experience and a good reputation with the company.
He told JCT thanks but no thanks because he didn't want to wind up in the same predicament down the road if the other guy got caught up in trouble, and I can't say I blame him -
Filled up at the Zip truck stop in Salome, Az. 9.34mpg. 57mph all the way. Of course having only about 20k (possibly less) in the box helps too.
Time to finish the trip to Colton and get this trailer dropped.Steel Tiger Thanks this. -
Got trailer dropped. Got lucky and there was another brand new (third brand new trailer in three weeks) empty 6000 series trailer waiting for me. Here til at least 10pm local time and waiting for tire guy to come change a tire on this trailer with exposed belts.
After that, I might walk over to Farmer Bros for some breakfast.
