There is more to this story......................

all i want to is drive . i dont care what... drive around in circle. -
But........ I would prefer to refer you back to the experts around here and then recommend you do a few searches of the site for previous threads/posts.........
I have been lurking around here for some time and I can tell you that generally the bottom feeder companies will take anyone with a pulse....... #### they even consider drivers with a 6 months of experience and a criminal record to be "trainer material."
Here is a recent thread/post that basically says what I have read over a hundred times around here...........

I would suggest that you search the net using trucking companies for your area and either call them or go see them. I've done searches like this before and you can come up with alot of companies. Most of them do not advertise for drivers because when they need a driver they will just use their own drivers fo advise or go to their applications. You might have to get out there and go to alot of these companies but in my opinion alot of them are better than the large hire a driver then throw him away. You migh hyave a big problem with that accident thou.
I just did a simple search for trucking companies in Phoenix AZ and there's over 10 pages. Sure you have the small companies that rent trucks but still the list will keep you busy. -

Jersey Trucker, Thank you.
Obviously, I'm not an expert. I get caught out far more often than I like. But I do pay attention to the voices of experience, and I read as much as possible. What I learn, I try to pass on.
Usually, it's simple things like: make sure you have gloves on before you touch the turbo.
StoryTeller..
I'm starting to think you may be right. I'm fresh out of school, and Watkins Shephard invited me to orientation (personal reasons got in the way of me attending.. what a mess). All of the 'bottom feeders' (as others have described them) would take me.. or anybody else from a school. (one of my classmates had a couple wrecks in the past two years, he said. He's working for Werner at the moment)
I think we're missing part of the story.
There IS some justification to working for those guys. I agree with others (most notably AfterShock, I think) who say "don't aim for the bottom - get the best job you can" (to paraphrase). On the other hand, while I'm still looking for a job, I think I'm the only one in my class doing so. Everybody else is drawing a paycheck.
It depends on your needs.
I may still end up at Werner - but you can bet I'll be out of there as fast as I can be. -
