You could make a cardboard Hood just measure both sides and the top cut a piece of cardboard (like a cereal box) to length make it 2-3inchs wide along the top and taper it down on the sides use either double face tape or duck tape to attach it, that may provide enough cover for you to read for awhile longer while you save to buy a new unit.

Something to look forward to! Lol
If you get a chance please look over those files Lisa sent, trying to figure out why the 720 won't connect to the MIFI. 👍
-
BTW,,, what is the Mi-Fi you are using - Model.
Thanks,
Mark -
Sure, You want to pm me your number and a good time to call.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Mark for his help!
Earlier this summer I sent Mark 3 RM720s that had malfunctioned. All three have been examined, repaired and returned to me in good working order free of charge.
It is refreshing to do business with a company like Rand McNally that manufactures a product that I like and then stands behind it!
Thank you Mark for all your help!Ditch Doctor, Mark Kling, Dieselboss and 1 other person Thank this. -
My 730 has problems my 720 NEVER had.
It constantly loses GPS signal, and takes terrible routs.
Too many to list, but I will give a couple examples.
If I want to go to warnerville Rd in oakdale CA from CA99 in Tulare, CA it starts telling me to get off the highway in merced and take city streets.
This is neither the shortest, or the fastest rout.
The unit is set to "fastest time".
The proper exit is Keyes.
If my destination is anderson st in Stockton, ca, from southbound I5, I should take charter way, and I am right there.
It goes right past that exit and goes 15 miles out of the way.
This is the second 730 I have had.
The 1st one never got a GPS signal and was returned.
This one works, but does the weird routing I mentioned and often loses GPS signal.
Again, this is stuff my 720 NEVER did, ever.
Are these common problems with the 730?
Running dock diag finds 30 bad files and repairs them.
No change in performance.
Can a remote check be done on it?
The 720 seemed like a much better unit.
Slower, but never failed me. -

They are not restricted.
It doesn't do this all the time.
The unit is erratic. -
The loss of GPS signal, and spinning screen in wide open areas is something a $430 device should not do.
