I just realized I could put $5000 down on a used truck say with 500k miles and have my weekly payments be more than HALF of what they are on a new truck. That's an extra $400 a week!
BUT no warranty and anything that breaks could mean a wrecker tow away for huge $$$$ and days in the shop costing a lot plus being in the shop for days losing revenue on top of that.

I don't know how people make such decisions, it's very temping to have a lot lower fixed costs BUT is it worth having no warranty and more breakdowns?

I would say it's the Sleep Apnea issue if you bio metrics are a certain number they say you have to have a sleep study done.

You do get group discounts, but you're paying 100% yourself, while as a company driver you pay maybe 20-25% of the premium and the employer pays the rest.

Also, the $203 might be a family plan. I know the single plan isn't as bad, but the driver+spouse and driver+family rates are way higher than single. My insurance for single is $91 for medical/dental/vision/minimal life/AD&D/short/long term disability etc

I can only say what happen to me, they were the first to require A1C for known diabetes. Mine was high and they gave me a 6 month card, I have to get it lower ASAP, or I may get the boot. They measure your neck also, but other than that not too difficult. The 100 yard dash up hill backwards was a little over the top!

    Kidding!

I need to ask about that extra week lol there is a $1400 incentive for maintenance account if you get a new truck also. Only found that out because I asked if there was any incentives being offered.
