I drove for Bill Harris before he was one of the owners at Merit, A little History, Bill had 50 trucks, Gary had 50 trucks, all leased to MCT, Gary suckered Bill into joining up with him to start Merit, Gary didn't used to be that way, then he hooked up with Jim Hill of Hill Bros. fame, then the wheels came off, Jim and Gary forced Bill out because he actually cared for the drivers, when Bill left, he took a lot of people with him (me included) and started Harris Quality, and also took 45% of Merit's freight, so in order for Gary to continue to live his lifestyle of Super Trucking Company Executive and support his Teutonic Trophy Wife he had to steal from the employees. I hated all that crap happened, Merit at one time was an awesome place, Great equipment, plenty of Miles Coast to Coast. Gary still owes me about $1500.00 dollars that I will never see.

To be fare the more consistent week is more easy to to with shorter runs.
That also shows the office folks got it pretty together to keep you moving that well without 2k plus mile runs.tow614 Thanks this. -

I just got a letter from SEC thats says I quit without giving notice. Not true... Funny one of the owners that I spoke to
when I turned in my truck said to return and drive for them ASAP. The letter was from some guy in the safety dept. I
really have to wonder about this company now. It looks to me like they are not all they appear to be on the surface.
It dosent really matter though. If and when I ever decide to go back to driving a truck, I dont think I will have to much
trouble finding another job. I may have to drive up in the Northeast again but I will find a company with better pay and
decent health and dental insurance. Driving for SEC was ok when they had all the western freight to haul, but they lost
most of that several months ago. So it goes in the world of trucking..... -
scooter and i both got letters saying we did give noticeAir Breeze Thanks this. -
They told me its an internal thing anyway and they dont release it to third parties anyway. The owner told me to just throw it away and he
will take care of it for me. I told him thank you and I will be back in a few months. That is unless they try to stick me in one of those trucks
with an automatic transmission. LOL,, I will say this for SEC. When you call them you get results ASAP, at least I did. I guess this should be
expected, like most trucking companies they have a high driver turnover rate. Now all they have to do is get better insurance, bump up their
pay about 5 cpm. Then figure out how to grab all that Goodman freight they lost out to BIG G EXPRESS.tow614 Thanks this. -
