What you want to bet that they will put no truck signs up at that entrance. Another way of saying that drivers are dumb. Its like the stay far left or right signs going into the blue beacons. Do you really have to remind me that this industry has alot of dummies in it? Obviously they do. We should get a thread going about the signs that make us look stupid. I gave one above already.

Landline said that before he even got to park he knocked down a light pole ... Maybe guy was so nervous over that incident he just shut brain off and drove away in a panic
-
I still think the USA driver got him beat!!
tsavory Thanks this. -
Is this the one you are referring to?rickybobby Thanks this.

i disagree...usa was just an idiot that tore the truck up....IMO this guy here HAD to be drunk, doped up or a med condition..... i dont see HOW in the world you can drive thru where this guy did and it NOT click he shldnt be here...let alone NEVER should have driven down that path to begin with....unreal....i may have missed it, did they figure out WHY yet ??? you can be THAT stupid....if so how did he manage so far ? how long has he been driving ?? WHY was he driving....UGH
-
I'm not so sure about the drugs or meds thing. I tend to think he knew he was in a bad spot but was too afraid, embarrassed and/or proud to stop and call for help. So he just kept going and obviously made things worse. Of course, that's me just speculating. Not sure if anyone knows the whole story just yet.
Anyway, Paschall requires a minimum if 6 mo. experience. So we do know he had at least that.
I agree that this incident was far worse than the USA guy. But USA guy was on YouTube so that has to increase the humiliation factor. OMG could you imagine if this whole thing had somehow made it to YouTube?Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
COMMON sense. you take a nap at the rest area. you wake up and take off down the sidewalk or dog trail in your TRUCK????...you realize YOU ARE IN A PARKING LOT and need to enter THE ROADWAY.....i CAN NOT wrap my head around this...

Marksteven and tinytim Thank this. -
Actually im surprised the ptl truck got as far as he did. The USA Truck driver came up on a low bridge, and instead of staying calm and maybe pulling to the side and waiting for the cops, decided to try a stupid u-turn, and tore his truck up so bad he might as well have just wedged it under that bridge.
-
It was worse than that. The person that posted the YouTube video said they offered to help guide the USA driver to back up another truck length and he could have simply turned left onto another street. The driver refused the help and instead opted to make a U-turn in the street. Pigheadedness doesn't mix with tight quarter situations. Giving it more throttle isn't the answer either.

Buddy of mine was following his GPS in tandem with written directions through the hills and hollers of Kentucky to deliver in some out of the way place. He said once he hit nothing but gravel road he stopped and called for confirmation of the directions. Turns out his GPS was right, but he felt stupid for relying on it even a little. I sent him a link to this thread and it cheered him right up.
