Yeah, on some local delivery gigs the driving isn't the main difficulty. Had a courier gig that had a dedicated route for an electrical supply company. Picked up at their warehouse and did about 6-8 deliveries in the area. To the customer all they knew was I was delivering/driving for the electrical company, although I couldn't say I was from the electrical company. When you're delivering breaker boxes to a steel plant it doesn't make any difference if you're driving a flatbed or a cargo van like I was, gate guards and receiving treated you all the same. Chemical companies were the worst, had to certify and do a training video, get ID card wear flameproof/hard hat/safetly glasses to get into the plant.

Then in the afternoon different customer, delivering either beef or fish restaurants/hotels. If the order was wrong, the Chef/Manager didn't give a rats butt if you were a courier or not, you were taking it back to the warehouse. I HATED food deliveries, have all the respect in the world for those guys who do it day in and day out.

I work for a major beer/wine distributor in the state of Ohio. Were actually a beverage company because we have beer and wine, but we also have a growing selection of non alcoholic beverages as well, pretty much if you can drink it with the exception of Coke/Pepsi and dairy products then we pretty much have it, well were trying to be that way at least. There's a ton of drinks and stuff out there and it seems like I mean if your bottling hose water and have a fancy package and professional image the company I work for maybe interested in talking to you.

Any how I go to stores and restaurants and bars and pretty much get treated good at some places and get treated crappy at others. It just depends on the place, really. It's a tough job though, you get used to it after a while, but it's not easy all the time.

I like to destroy my body by handling heavy kegs of beer. Usually when a keg is involved a set of steps is also involved :biggrin_2555:

oh, I don't know- I'm in the best shape of my life. Maybe I'm lucky, but beverage has been the best thing to ever happen to my body and physical conditioning.

From what I've heard Budweiser starts laying guys off right after New Years. Might just be hitting them at the wrong time?
