What should I expect as punishment...

Just make sure you keep them informed so they don't go through all the work of planning you a load when your not ready to move...that might piss them off, but all you need do is call and inform them of the virus you picked up has you unable to get too far away from the tolit. If you dont contact them, an ####### could interput it as job abandonment....you dont know what they say behind your back, especially if they kiss up to your face. Good Luck, and don't feel bad for them cause they #### sure won't for you. Your a number to your dispatch and when your gone for whatever reason...they'll give him another. Unless you go fishing with the president of the company.....you are a factor generating numbers in deliveries,safety,fuel,persentage,and a manipulative enity that is not very educated. You see the common knowledge is that most truck drivers are not very smart to be willing to live like you do for as little as you do. Maybe we are....we have allowed them to drive us to this existance, cheap price for a life. You work from the time you get up until the time you go to bed.....You do anything that much your going to make money. Good Luck

 

Take the job, if you enjoy driving...buy you a nice ride to drive on the weekend. You can always go back to driving, there will always be somebody needing a driver. The only difference is down the road it will pay more.

 

Call in sick. They say you don't sound sick. Say I'm humping my sister does that sound sick enough for ya.

 

As punishment they're probably going to pump Justin Beiber music into your cab 24/7 along with pics of Rosie O'Donnell at a nude beach.....😳😱😜

 

If you leave ask them about where to return truck and equipment you may have signed for. If you signed receipt for straps,load bars,tool kits, EZ Pass, etc. don't be surprised if that equipment doesn't make it back to the terminal and you get a bill.
If you stay,,that good relationship you had with dispatch may not be so good. Expect to be "spanked " with less miles, no hometime , or shagging MTs.. You have to rebuild. Good luck.

 

well hopefully that works out for you...doubt you'll miss your mega carrier job if it does, but at least you'll know and have a better perspective of how it is out there in the lower level dregs of the trucking industry. It's valuable insight you've gained that relatively few people get a chance to have.

If you are in good standing with your manager taking an extra day or two off shouldn't be a problem.
You may have to clean out your current truck, though, and wait to be reassigned another one when you come back. This is the way it is at Swift, but only at certain terminals.
Personally, I've never had that problem. Maybe? because I never take home time near my home terminal.

Whatever you decide to do, you will still owe them for the training.
That obligation is a legal and binding contract. You don't get out of it simply because you quit.
