I saw that truck in Denver last summer. I'm sure he's just running local (daycab) but ####, I wouldn't want to have to slam on the binders and swerve with that few straps on a tall steel load.

I secure my loads with an emphasis on self preservation. One of my biggest fears is having to hit the brakes in an emergency and having my load come through the back of the truck crushing me to death.

It is innocent bystanders. -
I secure stuff like it's going to be MY wife and kids right alongside me the whole trip myself.

I over strapped also, on my present load.

I would post a pic of my current ld. but I have no ld.
We moved up to Lamar, Pa. My buddy will meet me here in the morning and I will get my normal trl. back.
Then I guess Monday ld. and go about 300 miles and unld. and go get another ld. for that 300 mile haul.
Yea ha.. But I know the money will be right on this change of plans.. -

It takes an extra 5 minutes to throw another couple of chains. It can take hours, if at all, to fix a load that has shifted.
Luckily, I haul mainly the same stuff all the time pretty much. But when I get that oddball deal once in a while, I get kinda paranoid.
Martinpeterbilt_2005, tsavory and passingthru69 Thank this.
