Yep, as long as you have a decent rep with your bank. Mine has no problem.

Well, O/O usually pay for fuel with their card requiring a balance to stay on the card unlike company drivers. No one is talking about leasing a truck. Leasing your truck to a carrier is far different than leasing a truck from a carrier.

I use comdata direct deposit. Call your company and have them set it up

You can write a check out for whatever amount you want. Most banks treat them like cashiers checks. My bank will cash a 4500 check without blinking an eye.

No limit. Once the check is registered the check is guaranteed. Obviously the bank will check and get an authorization number. You can also just straight out cash it then with cash in hand deposit te cash into your account so it goes in instantly. Was never an issue for me though

I'm an adult with a checking account. I expect any company I work with to be able to transfer money directly into my checking account. I really don't understand this 4th party nonsense.

When I was OTR, I thought comdata was for drivers who couldn't get a checking account for whatever reason.

I am a company driver and have a comdata card for fuel. I never really thought about the difference between an O/O and company guy from that standpoint. I can get a cash advance on mine and have paid for repairs/tires with a comdata check before. i don't think I would want my pay associated with it. I want that going into an account not controlled by my company.

As an O/O or Lease driver does your settlement go straight to the card? Why not use a personal credit card for fuel and get some rewards points out of it. Seems to me the hassle of comdata checks defeats its usefulness. Whats the advantage of it? That unlimited approval?

Writing a check..... WOW can't remember the last time I did that.
but I guess everyone has his/her way of going about getting cash in pocket.
But I will predict that writing checks will go the same way as having a landline telephone.
Times are changing fast my friends.
In fact having cash in pocket may well go the same way in the future.
Its already happening in Europe.....folks out there paying for everything with their cellphones.
It will happen here too. No doubt.
you just have to be ready. And watch it unfold.
    good luck.
