The typical: how are they to work for? I understnd it's 25%, how are the loads/mind me asking the average check? Hows the home time? Whatever else else you could tell me to give me a good view of the comany. I'm drivng for Sygma right now, since March '14, my first driving gig, food service delivery. Not a terrible job, just not what I'm thrilled about. Anythig you'd be willing to share would be appreciated.
thanks!

Welp let me see of I can help ya here.
It really so far seems like a good company to work for .
Pay is on percentage for livestock , and used to be for van/reefer but the new VP has changed all new coming drivers to millage pay from what I have heard . Dont really effect me so I cant give you exact rates ( sorry )
I do like ot here so far and I believe ot is a decent company to work for .
On the reefer side there is only one dispatcher and one that sets up back hauls , so I mean they jave alot on their plate. Lol. But with that .. sometimes things get scheduled wrong and they still expect you to get it done. Lpl
First week I ran reefer and I put something like 3500 miles on the truck in 5 days . ( I said 5 )
Maybe they were testing me to see if I was up to running my ### off becaise with livestock there really is no such thing as a 10 hour break .
If you have any thing else you looking for dont hesitate to ask... -
I'm actually more interested in the livestock. If you wouldn't mind sharing on that aspect? Same questions..
thanks!
tangerineGT Thanks this. -
Its pretty decent rigjt now and we can sort of get away with alittle more , but romor has that we will be switching to e-logs in the future , so I am not really sure how that is gonna play effect on it.
I really like the livestock side ..
We have pretty decent trucks and i am pretty sure they all have APU's and inverters in them . Oh and they have a fridge too. They seem to care about comfort in that aspect.
You really wouldnt have to deal with anyone other then Josh who is in charge of livestock and Harrlod who is in safety. He is the one you talk to when you mess up you're log book , or get a speeding ticket like I did.lol
My day normally consists of loading at a farm here in PA then run to Smithfield , VA unload , get washed out and then head as far north as I can get to set my self up for the next appointment. .
Anything else you are looking for just ask..
Personally , I really like it here , but this is what I was looking for . Being home every weekend and livestock . You dont find that everywhere. . -
Thanks! Smithfield? That would be hogs, is that all the livestock they cover or just one avenue? Sounds like a nice gig. Do you only make it home on weekends or throughout the week?
-
Yes , all we haul are pigs . We have hauled cattle but a guy got hurt because he didnt know what he was doing and now it was ruined.
I get home every weekend yes. I could be home basically every night but I dont have a place to park with a trailer attached at the present time. -
I see billboards up advertising you need driver's...
tangerineGT Thanks this. -
I think they might be looking for one more livestock driver , but its mostly all reefer that they looking for. -
What are the trucks governed at ??tangerineGT Thanks this. -
